Fanboys can rejoice — X-Men: Apocalypse has finally been released and it will make an excellent addition to your superhero movies library. X-Men: Apocalypse is the third installment of the rebooted X-Men series. In this third film, humans continue to hate and fear mutants. Mutants are divided over this issue. One side, led by Apocalypse, believes mutants are superior and deserve to rule over all humans. The other side, led by Professor Xavier, believes mutants and humans can co-exist peacefully together. BTW, Stan Lee, the creator of Mavel Comics, makes another cameo. There’s also an extra scene at the end of the credits (fast forward to the very end). X-Men: Apocalypse is available now on Digital HD, Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD, and DVD. Note: Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment sent me the movie for review on my blog. As always, the opinions expressed are mine and I am not obligated to write a positive review.
My kids can’t wait to see Ice Age: Collision Course. Thanks to Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, I’m giving away the new Ice Age Blu-ray on my dad blog. We’re fans of the series. Our favorite character is Scrat. He always makes us laugh. We have not seen the movie yet, but from what I hear, Scrat’s epic pursuit of the elusive acorn accidentally triggers cosmic events that threaten the Ice Age world. Ice Age: Collision Course is available now on Digital HD, and will be available on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K Ultra HD on October 11th. Continue reading to find out how to survive a Scrat-tastrophe.
The kids and I saw Kung Fu Panda 3 again. We saw the film at the theater. We loved it then and still loved it when we saw it on Blu-ray. Before th Fourth of July weekend is over, we’ll probably see the movie for the third time. In my opinion, the animated movie is a fun film for kids and parents. Kung Fu Panda 3 is available now on Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD. BTW, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Dreamworks sent me the movie for review on my dad blog. As always, the opinions expressed are mine and I am not obligated to write a positive review.
Good morning, dads and moms. I hope you all are enjoying the Fourth of July weekend. I have two winner announcements this morning. But first, below are upcoming contests on my dad blog.
- Gibby DVD Giveaway (starting soon)
- Endgame DVD Giveaway (starting soon)
The kids and I saw the latest edition to the Kung Fu Panda series at the theater earlier this year. We loved it and can’t wait to see the Dragon Warrior again soon. If you or your kids are dying to see it too, then you are in luck. Thanks to Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Dreamworks, I’m giving away the Blu-ray on my dad blog. Kung Fu Panda 3 is available now on Digital HD, and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on June 28th. Continue reading to find out how to win the Blu-ray.
There’s a new Strawberry Shortcake title out on DVD. It’s called Campberry Stories and features three episodes about campfire stories. As expected, the characters and stories are as cute as ever. And even though Strawberry Shortcake seems to be aimed at young girls, my youngest son (age seven) really likes the episodes too. Strawberry Shortcake: Campberry Stories (Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment) is available now on DVD.
Which is better, coming in last and doing your best, or finishing first but not doing your best? I think many of us would prefer to finish first even if we don’t give it our best. Eddie the Eagle (giveaway) is the story of the other guy — the one that gives it his all, but finishes last. And even when he finishes last, he’s excited because he’s pursuing his dream of competing in the Olympics for his country, England. His story is wonderful and his “never give up” attitude is inspiring. Eddie the Eagle is a film most people will enjoy, and I think it will make an excellent Father’s Day gift for dads who enjoy good movies. Eddie the Eagle is available now on Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD.
The Other Side Of The Door is a horror story about a mom that opened a door to the dead in order to talk to her deceased son. The movie isn’t super scary, but the dramatic music and sudden jolts will startle you from time to time. And some of the scenes are creepy and bloody enough to make your skin tingle. The Other Side Of The Door is available now on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD — just in time for Father’s Day.
Looking for an inexpensive gift for a dad who loves movies? Then you are in luck. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment recently released the 20th Anniversary Edition of Independence Day. I saw the action-packed sci-fi film about 20 years ago. It was good back then and just as good when I watched it again recently. I think many dads would enjoy Independence Day too — especially if they are going to see the upcoming Independence Day: Resurgence (opens in theaters June 24th). Independence Day – 20th Anniversary Edition is available now on Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD. BTW, an Attacker Edition is also available. It includes a limited edition 3D Alien Ship Collector’s Set for the super fan.
