We’ve all heard of Groupon, right? I know I have. I’m frugal. That’s why I’m on their email list so I can see the latest deals daily. But until today, I didn’t even know Groupon offers coupons for retailers like Amazon, Target, eBay, and Lego Store. And unlike Groupon’s regular deals, the coupons don’t require you to pay for the coupon. They are free!
Yesterday was the last day of school for my kids. It’s now the start of the summer vacation for them. I still have to work, but I’ll eventually take some time off and go on a real vacation. I might even take the kids with me. One of my favorite hotels is the Marriot. My wife and I love staying there. That’s why I’m happy to learn about the Chase Marriott Rewards program. You can get one free night at their hotel when you join their program, and earn points for additional free nights when you stay at their hotels: JW Marriott, EDITION, Autograph Collection, Renaissance Hotels, AC Hotels by Marriott, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard, SpringHill Suites, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Residence Inn, TownePlace Suites, and Gaylord Hotels.
Summer is finally here. If you’re going on some road trips with the little ones this summer, then you’re going want to enter today’s giveaway. Thanks to Eric Carle, I’m giving away a prize pack on my dad blog. The prize pack consists of a Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? Book & CD set from MacMillan; A Very Colorful Day coloring book from Random House; and an ABC Game Tin from U Games. The prize pack will keep your preschooler entertained and make your vacation a little more relaxing. BTW, all the items in the prize pack were illustrated by Eric Carle.
PointHub contacted me last week about doing a write-up of their free service and hosting a giveaway on my dad blog (I’m giving away a $25 American Express gift card). To be honest, I had never heard of PointHub until they emailed me. From looking around their website, I’ve learned that PointHub lets people search and book flights and hotels. PointHub is kinda like Travelocity, Orbitz, Hotwire, and Expedia. But unlike those services, PointHub gives parents side-by-side comparisons between purchase price and rewards points for airlines and hotels. Not only can travelers see a comparison, they can also book with either credit card or with frequent flyer miles and reward points. Now that’s convenient.
The kids and I saw the latest Barney DVD last week, Barney: Big World Adventure the Movie (Lionsgate and HIT Entertainment). In this DVD, Barney and his friends travel in a hot air balloon. They stop in countries like China, Greece, France, Kenya, Italy, Switzerland, and Spain. At each country, Barney and friends do a little skit that involves the country’s culture. According to Barney, France makes great cookies. This I didn’t know (assuming it’s true). Bonus features include the Big Balloon Adventure Game and BJ’s Elephant Adventure Game. The 59-minute DVD will be available on DVD, Digital Download and On-Demand tomorrow (September 13th). The DVD has a list of $14.98, but you can get it for $11.99 on Amazon.
