My youngest daughter and I saw Peter Pan Live! recently. Universal Pictures Home Entertainment sent me the DVD for review on my dad blog. The show is a musical version of the classic Peter Pan story most of us grew up with. The musical is full of wonderful songs (my favorite was I Won’t Grow Up), but the production is also long (2 hours and 15 minutes). It was nice to hear all the songs in the show. On the other hand, there were times when the musical dragged. But overall, my daughter and I enjoyed the show. Peter Pan Live! is available now on DVD. Continue reading to learn five things about the production.
My youngest daughter and I went to an early screening of The Secret of the Wings (Disney Studios) earlier in the month. I think this is the fourth installment of the Disney Fairies series. In The Secret of the Wings, Tinker Bell meets her twin sister, Periwinkle. My daughter and I enjoyed the movie. In fact, my daughter told me afterwards to buy the DVD so her sister and brothers could watch the movie. She thinks they will love it too. The Secret of the Wings is available now on Blu-ray and DVD. The Secret of the Wings Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack retails for $49.99, but you can currently purchase it on Amazon for $29.96. Amazon is also selling The Secret of the Wings DVD for $16.99 (list price of $29.99).
Over the weekend, the kids and I saw a free movie screening of Tinker Bell and the Great Fairy Rescue. The animated Disney movie is a direct to DVD title that will be released on September 21, 2010. The Great Fairy Rescue is actually the third film in the series, but you don’t need to watch the first two movies (Tinker Bell | Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure) to understand what’s going on in the third movie (I didn’t see the first movie). The movie is rated G and is about 70 minutes long (seemed longer).
