Guess what? We’re going to host a Frito-Lay and Skylanders party to help promote the Frito-Lay and Skylanders “Choose and Name a New Hero” contest. Thanks to a joint promotion between Frito-Lay and Activision, fans can help choose and name a new Skylanders character that will appear in the upcoming video game, Skylanders Trap TeamTM, which will be released in North America on October 5, 2014. My son can’t wait until the new game comes out. He’s a Skylander nut. BTW, if you have a Skylanders fan in your family, you’ll want to enter my giveaway for a prize pack consisting of a Frito-Lay multi-pack and Skylanders merchandise!
I received a bag of Twix Bites for review on my dad blog. I loved them! I only got to try a few Twix Bites because I shared the treat with my wife and three of my kids. They ate them all. I guess that’s what I get for sharing. The Twix Bites are a little different compared to the bars we usually buy at stores. They still taste the same (super yummy). But as the name implies, Twix Bites are bite size. They are also unwrapped in the bag, which saves me the trouble of having to unwrap each bar and then having to throw away the wrapper. You can try Twix Bites too by either buying them at a store near you or by entering my giveaway for a movie prize pack, which consists of a $15 Fandango gift card and 2 sharable bags and a larger resealable bag of TWIX Bites. Sweet contest, right?
Thanks to DreamWorks Animation and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, I’m giving away part two of Dragons: Defenders of Berk. We have not seen it yet, but the kids and I enjoyed part one. We can’t wait to see part two. We’re also looking forward to seeing How to Train Your Dragon 2, which will open in theatres on June 13th. As an added bonus, the DVD includes Movie Money ($7.50 value) to redeem for tickets to see How to Train Your Dragon 2. Awesome, right? Dragons: Defenders of Berk Part 2 is available now on DVD. It has a list price of $19.98, but you can currently purchase it on Amazon for $9.99. That’s practically free when you factor in the movie money. Continue reading to learn how you can win the DVD for your kids.
If your kids are fans of Slugterra (like my children), I have a fun giveaway for you on my dad blog today. Thanks to Shout! Factory and Nerd Corps Entertainment, I’m giving away a Slugterra: Ghoul From Beyond DVD. If you have not seen Slugterra before, it takes place underground on Earth and the stories involve live slugs that are used as ammo. The latest DVD will be available on June 10th for $14.97. The DVD also includes a bonus episode.
Recently, the kids and I played with a couple of Bloco toy sets. The playsets are a bit like Lego sets. But instead of plastic bricks, you build things with foam pieces and plastic connectors. The kits include instructions in the form of pictures. Bloco (Facebook), which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, offers a variety of kits for robots, dragons, dinosaurs, and other animals. And thanks to Bloco, I’m giving away a toy set of the winner’s choice on my dad blog.
Power Rangers Turbo, Volume 2 will be available on DVD in stores nationwide on June 3, 2014. In the Turbo series, the Power Rangers battle the dreaded villain Divatox. The 3-DVD box set includes the final 22 episodes of the series. Thanks to Shout! Factory, I’m giving away the Power Rangers: Turbo, Vol. 2 DVD on my dad blog today.
Whistlefritz sent me their new French for Kids DVD and CD for review on my dad blog. The products are intended for children ages two to seven. The DVD is titled French for Kids: Dedans et Dehors (Inside and Out), and the CD is titled French for Kids: Allons Danser! (Let’s Dance!) As you can tell by the titles, the products are intended to help children learn French. We’ve only seen the DVD and listened to CD once so far. As a result, I can’t tell if my kids actually learned any French. But I have a feeling if they watch and listen a few more times, they’ll pick up some of the language. The key is repetition. And thanks to Whistlefritz, your kids can learn French too. A reader of my dad blog can win either the French for Kids DVD or CD (winner’s choice). BTW, I prefer the CD over the DVD because the tunes are lovely and the kids can listen to the songs when we’re driving around in my manly mini-van.

Did you know this Saturday (April 26) is National Pretzel Day? To be honest, until recently, I didn’t even know there was a special day for pretzels. My family loves pretzels. Every day is pretzel day at our house. As part of the National Pretzel Day celebration, I’m giving away a Break Happy kit on my dad blog. Thank you Rold Gold! The prize pack consists of six bags of Pretzel Thins, a $25 iTunes gift card, jasmine-scented soy candle and a break happy inspirational poster.
