There’s a new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse coming out on DVD. It’s called Mickey’s Sport-Y-Thon. The DVD features six episodes (over 2 hours). In the episodes, Disney characters compete in various sports activities. In the process they learn about teamwork and sportsmanship. And for a limited time, the DVD includes a Golden Mickey Medal. Neat, right? My kids and I watched it over the weekend. We enjoyed it — especially my youngest child (age seven). Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey’s Sport-Y-Thon is available now on DVD.
I recently ordered a fleece jacket from MyLocker.net for my fourth grader. She loved it and thought it was so cool to have a jacket with her school’s name on it. The jacket arrived in the mail last weekend and my daughter couldn’t wait to show it off to her friends at school this week. BTW, I received the custom apparel for review on my dad blog and because I’m participating in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for MyLocker. I will also receive a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
The Olympic Winter Games are finally here. My favorite events are short and long track speed skating. Actually, I love to watch most of the events. They are so exciting and the athletes are so inspiring. Unlike the annual national and world championships, the Winter Olympics only take place once every four years. It takes a lot of hard work, determination, and talent to win an Olympic medal. All athletes deserve our support. But because I’m an American, I’m rooting for Team USA. BTW, AT&T is a proud sponsor of the U.S. Olympic Team and the U.S. Paralympic Team. And thanks to AT&T, I’m giving away a gold medal prize pack consisting of a $100 Visa Gift card and a Team USA memorabilia package (t-shirt, gloves, signed picture). Continue reading to find out how you can enter the contest and support the U.S. Olympic Team.
Sports Illustrated Kids sent me their latest book for review on my dad blog. The title of the new book is Sports Illustrated Kids Full Count: Top 10 Lists of Everything in Baseball. Just in time for the playoffs and the World Series. My son and I love the baseball book. As you can tell by the title, the book is full of baseball lists. It covers just about everything a kid would want to know about America’s favorite pastime. Sports Illustrated Kids Full Count is available now for $19.95. However, you can currently purchase the 96-page hardcover book on Amazon for $12.82.
Sports Illustrated Kids sent me a copy of their Big Book of Why: Sports Edition for review on my dad blog. The book features answers to many kid’s sports questions. The book is great for sports-loving kids, but you don’t have to be a sports nut to like this book. My son loves the book too even though he’s not big on sports. I also found the book really interesting (I’m not a kid, but I am a sports nut). I think it makes a fun coffee table book. The book will also come in handy on long road trips. Sports Illustrated Kids’ BIG Book of Why: Sports Edition officially goes on sale next Tuesday for $17.95. However, Amazon is already selling the book for $14.
The next time you’re in the first aid section at the store, be sure to check out the new Sports Shield Bandages. They are sports-theme bandages for sports-loving children (dads and moms too). The Jolly Group sent me a box of their soccer theme bandages to review on my dad blog. My kids are not into soccer, but they love these bandages. I think it’s because the bandages has pictures of soccer balls on them. I like them too because they are nicer than the cheap bandages we usually buy.

Recently I saw a news story about pairing two GoPro HD HERO cameras with a synchronization cable to shoot full 1080p 3D video. My inner geek was intrigued so I went to the GoPro website to find more information. But the only 3D info I could find was a 3D HERO Expansion Kit – Coming Soon link. Even though I couldn’t find the information I was looking for, I did discovered their daily worldwide giveaway. Yes, DAILY. And WORLDWIDE. Each day, a winner will receive a GoPro Camera and Accessory Bundle ($600 value). In case you didn’t know, the company makes super cool wearable HD cameras. The cameras are ideal for sports activities, but dads and moms can also use the HD HERO for shooting 1080p HD videos and photographs of their kids. If I win one, I’ll use the camera during our summer bike rides or on a thrill ride at an amusement park.
I’m giving away a case of KIDStrong Hydration Beverage on my dad blog this week. Never heard of it? Neither did I until KIDStrong contacted me about the giveaway. KIDStrong is essentially a sports drink for kids. The drink is scientifically formulated with all the vitamins and nutrients that children require to live a healthy, active, and productive lifestyle. But unlike other sports drinks, KIDStrong contains no artificial flavors, sweeteners, or preservatives. It is low in sugar and does not contain stimulants. The kids drink comes in three flavors: clearly orange, clearly grape, and clearly fruit punch. KIDStrong Hydration Beverage is currently available in stores on the east coast, Amazon ($20.24 for a case of 12 bottles), and the KIDStrong’s website.
If your dad is into sports, then consider getting dad something from the Sports Authority for Father’s Day. Sports Authority has the sports equipment and team apparel for fathers who enjoy football, basketball tennis, golf, fishing, or camping. And if your dad is into the World Cup (Go USA!), then you are in luck. Thanks to the Sports Authority (Facebook | Twitter), I’m giving away a Nike T90 Luma X soccer ball on my dad blog.
