Friday was National Reading Day. My kids love books. Some of their favorites are Magic Tree House; Oh, the Thinks You Can Think!; The Sword of Summer; Winter Turning; The World According to Humphrey; and The Year of the Book. To help celebrate reading day and to kick off the release of Book of Life (January 27), Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment sent me a kit to help my kids tell the story of our family. I told my kids to use the kit to illustrate a story about our family. What I got was something totally unexpected. I also learned something about my kids — they are weird. Really weird. Good morning, dads and moms. We got our first snow of the year. It sucked. There’s very little snow, but the temperature won’t be above freezing for more than a week. In my opinion, if the temperature drops below 20° there be a foot of snow. Can you tell I love snow and we rarely get snow in Portland? Anyway, I have one winner announcement today. But first, here are the current giveaways running on my blogs.
- The Wolverine Blu-ray Giveaway (ends 12/11)
- Despicable Me 2 Blu-ray Giveaway (Oregon and Washington only, ends 12/11)
- Blu-ray Movie Magic Giveaway (ends 12/12)
- Catching Fire Giveaway (ends 12/12)
- Chuggington Giveaway (ends 12/13)
- Blu-ray Movie Magic Sweepstake (starts today on my Portland blog, open to USA residents)
Good morning, dads and moms. Black Friday is less than a week away, but I have to work this year. Is that a good or bad thing? I have three winner announcements this morning. But first, here are the current open giveaways on my dad blog:
Today’s Father Day giveaway is brought to you by PicturesOnGold.com, which is a manufacturer of 14 karat gold and sterling silver custom-made jewelry. Thanks to PicturesOnGold.com [Facebook | Twitter], I’m giving away a beautiful Sterling Silver Photo Dog Tag ($130 value) on my dad blog.
Mother’s Day is less than a month away. If you’re looking for a Mother’s Day gift idea, then consider giving her a locket from PicturesOnGold. Thanks to the company, I’m giving away a necklace on my dad blog. The prize is a Sterling Silver Heart Locket with a Birthstone on the Bale, along with an 18 inch Sterling Silver Box Chain. The heart-shape locket features two photos, personal engraving, an 18″ sterling silver chain, and a gift box. According to PicturesOnGold, the giveaway prize is valued at $200.
Check out the wrapped canvas print below. I love the texture of canvas and I love the canvas print Easy Canvas Prints sent me for review (they’re also giving another one away on my dad blog, but you have to use your own photo). I received a 8×10 wrapped canvas print, which is fine for my home office. However, if you’re going to display the canvas in your living room, I would suggest going with a larger size. I ordered my canvas with a 1.5″ thickness for a gallery look. If you plan to frame your canvas, you should select the standard .75″ thickness. I also ordered my print with a mirror image for the borders (photo image mirrors around the edge of the canvas print). I love the look of mirror image around the borders. Other border options include image wrap (photo wraps around the edge) and border color. Optional color finishing include sepia, and black and white. Read on to find out how you can win a wrapped canvas print from Easy Canvas Prints (Facebook | Twitter).
Good morning, everyone. It’s Super Bowl weekend. I’m not sure which team I want to win, but I am looking forward to the commercials. Hopefully, there will be a lot of good ones this year. At $3 million for 30 seconds, you would think all the ads would be good. Anyhow, I’m announcing the winners of the Picture Collage Maker Pro Giveaway today. BTW, there are giveaways on my blog that you still can enter:
- Office Depot H&R Block Tax Software Giveaway (ends 2/7)
- B. toys Valentine’s Giveaway (ends 2/9)
- State Farm Garage Giveaway – $300 gift cards (ends 2/15)
