Rock Dog (giveaway) is an animated film about a guard dog (Bodi) that wants to become a musician. His father is against this, but Bodi follows his heart and his dream eventually does come true. The film is a mix of comedy and music, but my two youngest kids like this movie mainly for the humor. They think the film is funny. BTW, Rock Dog is rated PG for action and language. Rock Dog is available now on digital HD and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on May 23rd. Note: I received a movie for review on my blog. As always, the opinions expressed are mine and I am not obligated to write a positive review.
My little guy is super excited about Rock Dog. We missed it at the theaters and can’t wait to see it on DVD. The animated film is about a dog’s quest to fulfill his dream of becoming a musician. Thanks to Lionsgate, I’m giving away a Rock Dog Blu-ray on my dad blog. Awesome, right? Rock Dog is available now on digital HD and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on May 23rd. I recently watched The Choice on DVD. The Choice is about two young people falling in love. But then tragedy strikes, and one of them is forced to make a very difficult choice. The film is actually another love story by Nicholas Sparks. In my opinion, it’s a good one. So if you’re in the mood for a love story, then this is the movie for you. The Choice (Lionsgate) is available now on digital HD, and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on May 3rd. Note: The Choice is rated PG-13. There’s a couple of implied sex scenes in the film. Otherwise the movie should be fine for most kids.
I watched the PG-13 rated The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 last night. It’s the fourth and final installment of the Hunger Games series. The story in this installment takes place right after Mockingjay Part 1. In the previous installment, Katniss spent quite a bit of her time as the propaganda piece for the rebels. But in part two, she returns to the battlefield. This time around, she’s not fighting to stay alive in the Hunger Games arena. Instead, she and the rebels are at war with the Capitol. I enjoyed the conclusion to the Hunger Games story, but I thought the ending was a bit long (kinda of like the ending for the final Hobbit movie). The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 (Lionsgate) is available now on Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD. In addition, The Hunger Games: Complete 4 Film Collection is also available as a box set.

Did you know before Arnold Schwarzenegger was an actor and governor, he was Mr. Universe? I know what you’re thinking — did he really compete against aliens from other planets? Probably not, but Mr. Universe sounds much more impressive than Mr. Earth, right? Anyway, Arnold is the star of the Pumping Iron documentary. The movie was released many years ago, but now it is available for download on digital HD for the first time with rarely seen content and interviews. And thanks to Lionsgate, a reader of my dad blog will win a digital HD copy of Pumping Iron.

Good morning, people. Sorry I have not been around here lately. For the record, it’s not a good idea to move the weekend before school starts. In my case, I moved out of my home office into the TV/playroom. My two boys moved into a bigger room (my old office), and my youngest daughter moved into the old boys room. My oldest girl wanted her own room. She’s in high school this year, so I decided to grant her wish. It was a good decision, but I should’ve done it earlier in the summer. Duh. Now on to my giveaway winner announcements.
