There’s only a few new DVD and Blu-ray movies this week. They include Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny (Donnie Yen, Michelle Yeoh), Justice League vs Teen Titans (animated), and The Forest (Natalie Dormer, Taylor Kinney). The Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon sequel and Justice League vs Teen Titans look the most promising. However, I hope the $57 price tag for Crouching Tiger is incorrect. That’s way too much for a movie. Continue reading for a summary of the new Blu-rays and DVDs for this week.
I saw the new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice last night. I thought it was awesome, but some people might not like it because it’s not a fun film. The movie is essentially a long drama (153 minutes) with superheroes as the main characters. Most of the action is at the end of the story and there isn’t any humor like you see in the Marvel movies. Batman vs Superman (DC Comics) is just a good drama. In other words, it’s like the last three Batman movies. One word of advice, you should see this PG-13 rated film as soon as possible before someone ruins the surprise ending for you. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Warner Bros) opens in theaters Thursday evening. Continue reading to learn six things about the movie.
New DVD and Blu-ray movies this week include Creed (Sylvester Stallone, Michael B. Jordan), The Night Before (Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen), Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales (animated), Legend (Tom Hardy), LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League: Cosmic Clash (animated), Miss You Already (Toni Collette, Drew Barrymore), and The Danish Girl (Eddie Redmayne). My fanboy kids will want to see the new Lego Star Wars (review) and Lego Justice League movie. As for me, I want to see Creed and The Night Before. Good morning, dads and moms! Today we’re going to a Chinese New Year party. It’s the year of the goat. Anyway, I have two winner announcements this morning. But first, below are the current giveaways running on my dad blog.
Have you or your kids seen LEGO: DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League vs. Bizarro League yet? We love the animated Lego movie, but my youngest child really loves it. We checked it out at the library and my kindergartener has seen the movie 50 million times so far. It’s a good thing the DVD is a three-week rental! Thanks to Warner Home Video, a reader of my dad blog can win the new LEGO: DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League vs. Bizarro League Blu-ray. Isn’t that totally awesome?
New Blu-ray and DVD movies this week include: G.I. Joe: Retaliation (Dwayne Johnson), Black Rock (Kate Bosworth, Katie Aselton, Lake Bell), Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (animated), and Teen Beach Movie (Ross Lynch, Maia Mitchell). I want to see GI Joe, and my kids will want to see Justice League and Teen Beach. Read on for a summary of the new film releases.
