Jennifer Lawrence has a new movie coming out soon on Digital HD, Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD and DVD. Her film is called Joy. The film is a dynamic story of a family across four generations, and the woman who would go from dysfunction to dynasty because of it. I have not seen it yet, but I’ve heard it’s good. According to the press material, Joy is a great film for girls night in, mother/daughter movie night, or a date night away from the kids. Thanks to Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, I’m giving away the Joy Blu-ray on my dad blog. Joy will be available in Digital HD on Friday (April 8th), and on Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD on May 3th — just in time for Mother’s Day.
I watched the PG-13 rated The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 last night. It’s the fourth and final installment of the Hunger Games series. The story in this installment takes place right after Mockingjay Part 1. In the previous installment, Katniss spent quite a bit of her time as the propaganda piece for the rebels. But in part two, she returns to the battlefield. This time around, she’s not fighting to stay alive in the Hunger Games arena. Instead, she and the rebels are at war with the Capitol. I enjoyed the conclusion to the Hunger Games story, but I thought the ending was a bit long (kinda of like the ending for the final Hobbit movie). The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 (Lionsgate) is available now on Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD. In addition, The Hunger Games: Complete 4 Film Collection is also available as a box set.
