Garage Door Safety Month Giveaway and Tips – win a $25 Visa gift card

Garage Door Safety - International Door Association (IDA)

Did you know June is Garage Door Safety month? Well, it is. In honor of Garage Door Safety month, the International Door Association (IDA) has a new video offering homeowners a quick primer about their garage door and tips to keep the door operating safely and efficiently. I just watched the video (see below) and I plan on doing my semi-annual lubrications of hinges, rollers and springs this weekend. That’s something any homeowner can do. But for major repairs, I’m leaving that to the professionals as the IDA video suggested. And thanks to the International Door Association, I’m giving away a $25 Visa gift card on my dad blog.

Garage Door Care Giveaway – win a $25 Visa gift card + maintenance and finding a pro tips

Garage Door Care maintenance email reminders

Last summer, we spent a long weekend at the beach for our 16th anniversary. We had a great time… until we came back home. That’s when we discovered the garage door wouldn’t open. At first we couldn’t figure out why. My wife and I are not exactly garage door experts. The only thing we know about garage doors is that you push the button on the remote to open and close the door. We eventually found the cause of the problem — one of the garage door springs broke. Then we had to quickly track down a professional to fix the spring because the other car was stuck inside. This is actually what this blog post is about: maintaining a garage door and hiring a qualified professional. BTW, thanks to GarageDoorCare.com, I’m giving away a $25 Visa gift card on my dad blog.

Garage Door Care Survey Results and Giveaway – win a $25 Visa gift card

Garage Door Care Survey

Harris Poll recently conducted a survey for the International Door Association (IDA), which is a trade association consisting of over 2,000 door and access system dealers and installers worldwide. The IDA commissioned the survey because they want homeowners to consider maintenance of their garage door the same way they consider maintenance of their smoke alarms and cars — as a necessity for the overall care and safety of their home. They also want me to share the results of their survey with my readers. And thanks to the International Door Association, I’m giving away a $25 Visa gift card to a reader of my dad blog. BTW, check out the Garage Door Care site to learn about how garage doors work, garage door safety and garage door maintenance.

Garage Door Safety Tips and Giveaway – win a $25 Visa gift card

Garage Door Care ~ International Door Association (IDA)

Today on my dad blog, I’m going to share some garage door safety tips and then host a giveaway ($25 Visa gift card). The garage door safety tips I’m going to share are from the International Door Association. The IDA is a trade association with over 2,000 door and access system dealers and installers worldwide. The IDA offers a quick quiz on their website, Garage Door Care, to test you and your family’s garage door safety smarts. After taking their short quiz (I answered all five multiple-choice questions correctly), the site explains the safety reasons for the answers.
