Big Little Lies Blu-ray Review

Big Little Lies Blu-ray | HBO Home Entertainment

I just got back from vacation and have been watching the new HBO series, Big Little Lies. It’s an excellent show and hooks you right from the first episode. That’s when we find out someone has been murdered. I’ve only watched four episodes so far, so I have no idea who was killed. I’m guessing it’s one of the main characters. The suspense is killing me. I want to know who died, why, and who the murderer is. If you have not seen the HBO series yet, you should. You won’t regret it. Big Little Lies, which is rated TV-MA, is available now in Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD.

Vice Principals: The Complete First Season Blu-ray Review

Vice Principals: The Complete First Season

HBO recently released season one of Vice Principals on Blu-ray and DVD. The cable TV show is about two school vice principals scheming to get rid of the new principal. Both VP’s think they should be the principal. The story isn’t very realistic (especially the profanity at school), but the series is funny. If you’re looking for a new series to binge watch, you should definitely check out Vice Principals: The Complete First Season.

Ballers: Season 2 Blu-ray Review

Ballers Season 2 - HBO

HBO is releasing season two of Ballers on Blu-ray and DVD next week. Ballers is about a former football player who now works as a money manager for football players. I love this series. It has a football feel, yet it rarely show athletes playing football. Ballers is more about the characters instead of the game of football. The characters grow on you and you become vested in their lives. Ballers: S2 is available now on digital HD, and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on January 31st. Note: the series is rated TV-MA for nudity and sex scenes.

Game of Thrones: Season 6 – fantastic holiday gift idea

Game of Thrones: The Complete Sixth Season

Season six of Game of Thrones will be out on Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD this week. I love this show. The characters are interesting, the story is fantastic, and the plot is very unpredictable. And if you’ve seen the HBO series, then you know the writers are not afraid of killing off main characters — including popular characters I like. In fact, season five ended with the apparent death of Jon Snow. Anyways, I love season six of Game of Thrones. It’s just as good as the previous seasons. I can’t wait to see season seven. BTW, Game of Thrones: The Complete Sixth Season will make an excellent gift for a fan of the series.

Ballers: The Complete First Season Blu-ray Review – Father’s Day gift idea

Ballers: The Complete First Season

HBO is releasing the first season of Ballers on Tuesday. I watched the first season recently and liked it. I think Ballers would be a fun Father’s Day gift for dads who love sports. The series is about a former NFL player who is now using his connections to sign up athletes for the investment firm he works for. The show is a really good drama and the characters are interesting. Like I already said, Ballers would be a good gift for a dad into sports. Ballers: The Complete First Season will be available on Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD on June 14th. Note: Ballers is rated TV-MA for profanity, nudity and sex scenes.

Veep Season 4 Blu-ray Review

Veep: The Complete Fourth Season | HBO

I watched season four of VEEP earlier this week. The show is a comedy about the Vice President of the United States. The series stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus as the veep. The HBO show is really funny and is an excellent showcase for the talented Julia Louis-Dreyfus (she’s won an Emmy for each season of Veep). The two-disc Blu-ray includes all ten episodes of season four, plus hilarious deleted scenes. Veep: The Complete Fourth Season is available now on Digital HD, and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on Tuesday, April 19th. Note: there’s a lot of bad language in the show (it’s rated TV-MA), so don’t watch with your kids around.

Silicon Valley: The Complete Second Season Blu-ray Review

Silicon Valley: The Complete Second Season

I recently watched season two of Silicon Valley (HBO). The series is about a new start-up trying to survive the cut-throat world of Silicon Valley. I love the show. It’s funny, the characters are geeky, and the episodes are interesting. If you have not seen the series yet, I highly recommend it. Silicon Valley: The Complete Second Season is available now on Digital HD, and will be on Blu-ray and DVD on April 19, 2016. Note: there’s a lot of bad language in the show (it’s rated TV-MA), so don’t watch with your kids around.

Show Me a Hero DVD Set Review

Show Me a Hero DVD set

I finished watching Show Me a Hero last night. It’s a 6-part mini-series from HBO. Each part/episode is about 60 minutes long. Show Me a Hero is based on a true story that took place in Yonkers, New York in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. A lot characters were introduced in the first episode, so it was confusing at first. Other than that, the story was fairly easy to follow. Overall, I enjoyed the series. The story was interesting, the acting was good, and I loved the use of Bruce Springsteen music throughout the drama. Show Me a Hero is available now on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital HD. BTW, I received the DVD set for review on my blog.
