I have a funtastic giveaway today. Shout! Kids and Hasbro Studios are releasing three DVDs this month: My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic: Exploring the Crystal Empire, Littlest Pet Shop: Pet Stars, and Transformers Rescue Bots: Protect and Explore. To help promote the new titles, I’m giving away all three DVDs on my dad blog. Awesome, right? Continue reading to find out how to win the three DVDs on my blog.
The past week was spring break and it wasn’t easy keeping the kids entertained — especially the youngest one, who likes to tell me constantly that he’s bored. If it was up to the kids, they would play video games all day long. But that’s not good. Fortunately for everyone, they didn’t play video games all week. In addition to video games, the kids also did things like swimming, volleyball, making clay figures, going to the mall, and playing with toys like Hasbro’s My Little Pony Equestria Girls and Mr. Potato Head Transformer. This is actually what this blog post is about — a review of the Hasbro toys.
Still looking for a gift idea for a girl? How about the Nerf Rebelle Codebreaker Crossbow Blaster. Thanks to movies like the Hunger Games and Brave, my kids are into bows and arrows. Don’t worry parents, the arrows are actually soft foam darts. Obviously dads and moms need to tell their kids not to aim the crossbow at someone’s face. BTW, it’s classified as a girl toy on the Hasbro website, but I think it’s fine for boys too.
Good morning, dads and moms. I’m not sure what we’re doing today. Maybe a Christmas card photo of the kids. Anyways, I have two winner announcements this morning. But first, below are the current giveaways running on my dad blog.
- Huggies Little Movers Giveaway (dad blog, ends 12/2)
- Maze Runner: Scorch Trials Blu-ray Giveaway (coming soon)
- Canary Security Camera Giveaway (coming soon)
My kids and I are anxiously waiting for the release of the new Star Wars movie. We can’t wait to see The Force Awakens. We’re big Star Wars. The Force is strong in our family. So strong in fact that I’m sure my kids would be happy to receive more Star Wars toys for Christmas. And thanks to Hasbro, I’m giving away a Star Wars toy on my dad blog. The winner of my giveaway can select one of the Star Wars toys mentioned in this blog post. Continue reading too see my list of five Star Wars gift ideas.
Halloween is over, Thanksgiving is coming up, and Christmas is just around the corner. If you’re already thinking about what to get your kids for Christ
mas, then I have some ideas for you. It’s not easy finding the right toy for kids, right? It’s not easy for me either, but I do have a method that I like to use. Basically, I try to visualize in my mind if my children will like a particular toy. I factor in their personalities and things I know they like. For instance, I can visualize my two youngest kids role playing with FurReal Friends StarLily and Play All Day Elmo. My older boy (superhero fanboy) would probably like the Marvel’s Avengers Starter Pack, and my oldest girl (brainy child) would probably like Scrabble Twist. I don’t know for certain if my kids will like the toys I get them, but I think visualizing helps with the process.
My son and I saw a screening of Battleship (Universal Pictures) on Tuesday. It’s an action film about an alien invasion. There’s a lot of action and mayhem in the movie. The story is loosely based on the Hasbro Battleship game. Battleship [Facebook | Twitter] opens in theater today. Below is a quick summary of the film. Continue reading for the full movie review of Battleship.

Thanks to Hasbro, Christmas came a little early this year. Hasbro sent my children a FurReal Friends Newborn Panda Bear and three Transformers (Revenge of the Fallen) toys to play with. It’s too bad I couldn’t wrap them up and pretend they came from dad and mom. After watching the kids play with the toys, here’s what I have to say (besides thank you to Hasbro).
FurReal Friends Newborn Panda Bear
This little toy is so cute even my little tomboy loves it. The Little Monkey (age four) looks so adorable playing with the panda newborn (she named him Butchee — the name came from the book Fluffy Goes To School). The FurReal Panda makes soft noises and moves a little. The little panda is intended for kids age four and up (the Little Princess also loves the Fur Real panda and she’s nine). It’s a fun and cuddly gift for a little one. The FurReal Panda sells for $18.95 at Amazon (the price goes up and down daily). Amazon also has other Fur Real Friends — like a kitten, monkey, puppy, polar bear, and elephant.
