Father’s Day is just around the corner. I’m hoping to chill out with the kids and grill a fresh pizza or two next Sunday. That’s right, you can grill a pizza instead of baking it in the oven. It’s a new grilling trick I learned recently. My co-workers have told me about cooking their pizza in a smoker before, but I have never tried it until this past weekend. I made it easy on myself by purchasing a couple of take and bake pizzas. BTW, I will be compensated for this post on my dad blog for writing about Papa Murphy’s and their Father’s Day giveaway. As always, the opinions expressed are mine and I am not obligated to write a positive review. #DadMoments #EGGhead4Life #sponsored
My kids and I are looking forward to watching The Croods next week. We missed it at the theaters last summer, but we’ve heard it’s entertaining. The movie is about a pre-historic family who sets out to explore a spectacular landscape filled with fantastic creatures and strange surprises. The Croods will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on October 1st. If you can’t wait until next Tuesday, you can watch it now via Digital HD. And thanks to 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, I’m giving away a Croods prize pack (The Croods Blu-ray and a small Belt plush) on my dad blog.
Check out the photos of my son. He’s wearing ugly children’s clothing. OK, the clothes are not actually ugly. In fact, I think the clothes are cute. The clothes are just marketed with the brand name of Ugly Children’s Clothing. Funny, right? The company sent me a couple of their Ugly clothing for review on my dad blog. I’m not sure who’s happier — me or my son. We both love the Ugly clothes. My son didn’t even want to take off the Ugly shirt or the parka. Did I mention it was 90° when he tried on the Ugly clothes? It’s a good thing Fall is just around the corner.
Philips Norelco sent me their Bodygroom Pro for review on my dad blog. I love it for several reasons. First, it’s sleek, looks sharp and comes with a nifty looking charging stand that can fold for storage. Second, the Norelco body groomer is a multi-purpose electric shaver for the entire body. Finally, the Bodygroom Pro doesn’t irritate my skin. This is important to me because I have sensitive skin. Does this mean I’m a sensitive guy?
Recently, I checked out a couple of books at the library that will appeal to geek dads and do-it-yourself (DIY) dads:
The first book, Geek Dad, is technology oriented and the projects tend to involve computers and other electronics. This would be an excellent ideas book for a geeky dad. The second book, Handy Dad, doesn’t involve computers or electronics. Instead, the projects tend to be wood-based. This book would be a handy resource for a dad who likes to build things and work with wood.
Flowers are not just for moms. Dads love flowers too. I think a bouquet of flowers would make an excellent gift for Father’s Day. Thanks to Teleflora (Facebook | Twitter), I’m giving away a bouquet of flowers of the winner’s choice on my dad blog for Father’s Day. Teleflora offers a wide assortment of flowers that many dads would love. With Teleflora, you can have hand-arranged flowers hand-delivered to your dad or spouse.
The winner of the Scentsy Mother’s Day Giveaway Winner is Rachel (aol). Thanks to the latest sponsor of my dad blog, Scentsy, Rachel will receive a Scentsy gift pack. The gift pack includes a full size warmer and three Scentsy bars (scented wickless candles). Thank you everyone for entering!
I know Mother’s Day is still two months away, but some dads and kids need to start early on their plans for Mother’s Day (not me of course, this geek dad has already reserved a table at McDonald’s). Here’s an idea: Scentsy bars and warmers would make a fantastic Mother’s Day present. And thanks to Scentsy, I’m giving away a Scentsy System on my dad blog. Before I get to the details of the Scentsy Mother’s Day Giveaway, let me tell you a little about Scentsy.
What is Scentsy?
Scentsy bars are highly scented wax candles that melt at a very low temperature in specially designed electric warmers. Scentsy also carries hanging fresheners for cars, travel tins, and room sprays.
Anyone entertaining over the holidays? We had some relatives over last year, but we’re not sure about this year yet. Thanks to baby, things are still very hectic around here. And mom and dad are very, very tired. If we do entertain this year, it’ll probably be a last minute thing, which ties in with today’s review — Président Brie. I sampled some this week and like it. It’s creamy and delicious. Just perfect for crackers. In our case, Ritz crackers, which we discover baby also likes. You know, it’s really nice to be able to feed baby without him screaming like he’s being terrorized by vampires, werewolves, and Dakota Fanning.
