There’s a new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse coming out on DVD. It’s called Mickey’s Sport-Y-Thon. The DVD features six episodes (over 2 hours). In the episodes, Disney characters compete in various sports activities. In the process they learn about teamwork and sportsmanship. And for a limited time, the DVD includes a Golden Mickey Medal. Neat, right? My kids and I watched it over the weekend. We enjoyed it — especially my youngest child (age seven). Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey’s Sport-Y-Thon is available now on DVD.
My youngest son and I recently watched Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey’s Monster Musical. Disney Junior sent me the DVD for review on my dad blog. We both enjoyed the DVD. I like the Halloween theme episode the best, but my son likes the farm episode better. The new DVD features three episodes plus a bonus episode. In addition, the DVD includes a cute, reusable trick-or-treat mini tote (while supplies last). BTW, the DVD is almost two hours long. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Mickey’s Monster Musical is available now on DVD. It has a list price of $19.99, but you can currently purchase it on Amazon for $11.99.
If your kids are like my children, then they probably play too much electronics. That’s why I love the Keep Out!: Build Your Own Backyard Clubhouse book (by Lee Mothes). As you can probably tell by the title, it’s a step-by-step guide for building a clubhouse for kids. There are plenty of books about building clubhouses, playhouses, sheds, and treehouses. But this book is a little different because it’s aimed at kids. The book provides instructions that most tweens and teenagers should be able to understand. There’s another nice thing about the book. Even though the target audience is kids, parents with little or no DIY experience can also use the ideas presented in the book to build playhouses for younger kids or tool sheds for themselves. Keep Out! Build Your Own Backyard Clubhouse (Storey Publishing) is currently available now for $13.99 on Amazon. A Kindle version is also available for $9.99.
