Look at this cute book I received from Lookio Books. It’s a personalized and customizable book that features my son’s face and name in the story. We love it — especially my toddler, the main character in the book. In case you’re wondering, Lookio Books is a small business recently launched by the husband and wife team of Christine and Shawn Currie. And thanks to Lookio Books, a reader of my dad blog will win a cute and personalized children’s book too.
My son and I received the new Pro Files: Baseball (Sports Illustrated) for review on my dad blog. The 96-page hardcover book targets children ages eight to twelve. My oldest son isn’t into baseball, but he still loves this book. He doesn’t follow baseball and doesn’t know any of the players in the book, so I’m not sure why he likes the book. However, he did mention the favorite cartoon characters of the players in the book. That’s right, Pro Files: Baseball lists inside information like favorite car, movies, actor, food, cartoon character, video game, etc. Pro Files: Baseball is available now with a list price of $17.95, but you can currently purchase it on Amazon for $13.46.
I received the Little Pim: Colors children book for review on my dad blog. The main character of the book is Pim (a cute panda). As you can tell from the title, the focus of the book is colors. The language-oriented book includes the words for various colors in English, Spanish, and French. Little Pim: Colors is one of those playful hardcover book with flaps and pull tabs. The book is intended for babies and preschoolers. The Little Pim book is available now for $8.95.
Time For Kids recently sent me a children book to review on my dad blog. The book is titled, BIG Book of Why: 1,001 Facts Kids Want to Know. As you can tell from the title, it’s full of fun facts and answers to questions kids might ask. Each answer includes a photo or an illustration to explain the why behind each question. The reading level of the 192-page book is ages 9-12. I had my ten-year old daughter read the book and she said she enjoyed it. I think many dads and moms will find the book interesting too. The hardcover book is currently selling for $13.57 at Amazon (list price: $19.95).
