Mother's Day (Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson)

There are plenty of new Blu-rays and DVDs to choose from this week. Batman: The Killing Joke (animated) and Bite (Elma Begovic) are at the top of my list. If you’re looking for something light, there’s Mother’s Day (Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson). If you are in the mood for a comedy, there’s Keanu (Jordan Peele, Keegan-Michael Key) and The Bronze (Cecily Strong, Melissa Rauch). Other new releases include The Lobster (Colin Farrell, Rachel Weisz), High-Rise (Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons), The Trust (Nicolas Cage, Elijah Wood), and Gibby (Shelby Lyon). Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Review

Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot)

I saw the new Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice last night. I thought it was awesome, but some people might not like it because it’s not a fun film. The movie is essentially a long drama (153 minutes) with superheroes as the main characters. Most of the action is at the end of the story and there isn’t any humor like you see in the Marvel movies. Batman vs Superman (DC Comics) is just a good drama. In other words, it’s like the last three Batman movies. One word of advice, you should see this PG-13 rated film as soon as possible before someone ruins the surprise ending for you. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Warner Bros) opens in theaters Thursday evening. Continue reading to learn six things about the movie.

The Harley Quinn and Zombie Batman Show

Harley Quinn interviewing Zombie Batman

Netflix has a new series out. It’s called the Mr. Peabody and Sherman Show. We’ve only seen one episode so far. In the show, Mr. Peabody and Sherman interview people from our past. It’s essentially an educational show mixed in with a lot of gags. Speaking of interviews, DreamWorks Animation sent us a kit (mugs, fake microphone, interview cards) to conduct our own interview. Check out the funny video below. It’s Harley Quinn interviewing Zombie Batman. I’m biased, but I think it’s cute.

Harley Quinn Tween Costume Review

Harley Quinn Tween Costume

If you’re a regular reader of my dad blog, then you know the kids and I love Halloween. In my opinion, Halloween should be a national holiday. We love decorating and dressing up for Halloween. Last year, my kids dressed up as Flash, Deathstroke, Apple White, and a serial killer. That’s right, my youngest daughter wanted to be a serial killer. I hope that’s not a sign of things to come. For the next Halloween, she’s going to dress up as Harley Quinn. If you don’t know, Harley Quinn is the Joker’s sidekick. Like the Joker, Harley Quinn is a prankster and has a wicked sense of humor. Kinda of like my youngest daughter.

Six Safety Tips for Watching Movies at the Theaters

First of all, condolences to the families and friends of the victims of the Batman cinema shooting in Aurora, Colorado. The shooting is a terrible tragedy, and I can’t even begin to imagine the terror those people had to go through. After I heard about the shooting, I thought about canceling my plans to take my son to see Batman last Saturday. But then I concluded the Aurora cinema shooting is an isolated incident and that it is still fairly safe to go the movies — especially if I follow some basis theater safety rules (see my safety tips list below).
