I have a couple of Subway announcements on my dad blog today. First, thanks to Subway (Facebook | Twitter), I’m giving away a prize pack. Second, Subway is partnering with Little League Baseball and Softball for the second annual Baseball DeSIGNS Tour, which is an eBay auction that benefits the Little League Urban Initiative. Portland Public Schools could sure use Subway’s help. The school district almost cut PE entirely because of a $19 million budget deficit (note: if the school system receives $7 million in federal stimulus money, then each school will most likely have a half-time PE teacher — not ideal, but better than nothing).
Two announcements today on my dad blog — both related to State Farm Insurance (Facebook | Twitter) and Major League Baseball (MLB). First, I want to let you know I’m giving away a $100 Sports Authority gift card on my dad blog (thank you State Farm and MLB). Second, you can win a 3-day/2-night trip to the 2010 World Series (including air fare and hotel). Not only can you win a trip for two, you can also help out a charity of your choice. I don’t know which teams will be in the World Series this year, but I know it won’t be the Seattle Mariners (Portland is too tiny to have a MLB team — we can’t even afford sunshine for more than two months out of the year).
The winner of the Dove Men+Care Giveaway on my dad blog is Melanie (clarkmurdock). If you didn’t win, feel free to enter the other giveaways on my dad blog:
- RaveStuff Giveaway – $35 gift certificate (ends 7/13)
- California Pizza Kitchen Giveaway – $50 (ends 7/21)
- Hotels.com Giveaway – hotel stay for up $350 (coming soon)
Because I’m so manly, the people over at Dove asked me to review their Dove Men+Care comfort pack on my dad blog. I declined, but not because I don’t think highly of their products. I happen to think Dove makes great products. I use their Dove soap daily for my sensitive skin (have I ever mentioned that three of my kids have sensitive skin just like me — you’re welcome kids). The reason I declined is because I have no idea how I would write a review of their men’s body and face wash. Do I lather up half of my body with Dove and the other half with product X, and then compare the products? I don’t think so. Instead of a review, I’m giving away a Dove comfort pack (body and face wash, body and face bar, and an active clean shower tool) to a manly dad.
