There are a bunch of new movies this weekend: Blair Witch (Brandon Scott), Bridget Jones’s Baby (Renée Zellweger, Colin Firth, Patrick Dempsey), Hillsong – Let Hope Rise (documentary), Snowden (Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley), The Good Neighbor (Scott Speedman), Silicon Cowboys (documentary), and Miss Stevens (Lily Rabe). In my opinion, Snowden and Silicon Cowboys look the most interesting. Continue reading for summaries and trailers of the new movies for this weekend.
It’s Mother Day this Sunday. In honor of this special day for moms all over the world, I wanted to share a video from Huggies (see below). The company created a heartfelt video showing expectant moms and dads reading letters they’ve written to their baby. It’s a great idea and I wished I wrote a letter to my kids before they were born. Huggies thinks it’s a great idea too and encourages expectant mothers and fathers to write and share their own Letters to Baby. BTW, thanks to Huggies, I’m giving away a month’s supply of Huggies Little Snugglers Diapers on my dad blog.
I have a practical giveaway for dads and moms with kids still in diapers. Thanks to Huggies, I’m giving away their improved Little Movers Diapers on my dad blog. According to the press material, Huggies has upgraded their line of Huggies Little Movers to facilitate movement and help all babies thrive. Increased movement builds stronger muscles, bones and can even support brain development. We all want that for our children, don’t we? Of course we do.
My youngest child turns five in two weeks, but his birth seems like a lifetime ago. I don’t remember much about his birth other than my wife waking me up to tell me it’s time to go to the hospital. While my wife went through labor, I just stood next to her telling her to push, breath or relax. And about a half day later, our fourth child was born. That’s really all I remember. Actually, I do remember a woman not affiliated with the hospital approaching us about banking our newborn’s umbilical cord. She told us his stem cells could be used for important research and someday it could even save our child’s life if he ever needed access to his cord blood. We turned her down for several reasons, but the main reason was because we didn’t know anything about cord blood banking. Looking back on it now, I wished we would’ve banked his cord blood. As the lady told us, it could save his life someday. That’s why I’m now writing this Cord Blood Registry post for Dad Central. Note: I will receive a promotional item to thank me for participating, but the opinions expressed here are mine and I am not obligated to write a positive review.
Graco is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of their Pack ‘n Play by giving away their new Pack ‘n Play Playard with Reversible Napper & Changer on my dad blog. We don’t own the new one, but in the past, we’ve owned a couple of their older playard models. They are nice and convenient. Other parents agree too. Since 1987, over 30 million caregivers have picked Graco as their playard of choice.

A lot of pregnant women like to play music to their babies in the womb by placing speakers on their bellies. But with Sound Beginnings, expecting moms don’t need to do that anymore to share music with baby-to-be. Sound Beginnings enables mommies to share her favorite music and recorded messages (from daddy and other loved ones). There are no Velcro, clips or adhesives/glue to keep speakers in place. Moms just plug in their iPod or other MP3 player. That’s it. No assembly required. And when it’s dirty, you can just wash Sound Beginnings in the washing machine — including the speakers! Nice, right? Even better is that I’m giving away Sound Beginnings on my dad blog. BTW, Sound Beginnings (Facebook | Twitter) has won nine parenting awards and has been voted the safest and most convenient way to share music and voice with baby in the womb.

The device is called Bellybuds (Facebook | Twitter). The gadget lets moms play music to their baby while the little one is still inside the womb. What a neat idea! If my wife was pregnant, I would want to try out the Bellybuds. Luckily for you guys (and me), my wife isn’t pregnant again (I love my kids, but four is enough). Instead of reviewing it, I’m going to give Bellybuds ($50 value) away on my dad blog. Read on to find out how to win this neat product for yourself or someone you know (excellent baby shower gift).
Avon launched their new Tiny Tillia brand of designer baby clothes and accessories last week. I’m a dad so I didn’t even know Avon sold baby products. I thought they only sold cosmetics. Shows how little I know about Avon. The Tiny Tillia brand was actually created by Tiffany Lerman, the daughter of best-selling author Jackie Collins. Anyway, the company sent my two-year old toddler a few Tiny Tillia items to review. They didn’t have samples of their new clothing line, so they sent some blankets, socks, and a plush toy. If their new clothing line is anything like their accessories, I think many moms and dads will love the new Tiny Tillia (Facebook | Twitter) collection.
