Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul Blu-ray Review – get the original movie free

Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul | Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment

The fourth movie of the Diary Of A Wimpy Kid series (based on Jeff Kinney’s book series) features a new cast. The original cast is gone, but it’s not a reboot. In Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul, the Heffley family takes a long road trip for grandma’s 90th birthday. And because Greg is always getting into trouble, the trip goes wrong. The film is funny and is entertaining for the entire family. Diary Of A Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul is available now on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD. Note: the movie is rated PG for some rude humor.

Snatched Blu-ray Review

Snatched | Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment

Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn make an unexpected team-up in Snatched. The team-up is unexpected because I have not seen Goldie Hawn in a movie in a long time. She was so funny back in her day. In her new film, she’s the cautious mom of Amy’s character, who is young and adventurous. The movie is about the two of them trying to escape from some kidnappers in South America. The story is a little predictable, but it’s funny and the dialog is witty at times. Snatched is available now on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD. Note: the movie is rated R for crude sexual content, brief nudity, and language throughout.

Our Awesome Mix in Honor of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2

If you have seen either of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, then you know music is one of the things Peter Quill (Star-Lord) is really into. And you better not mess with the awesome mix his mom gave him before she died. He’s crazy enough to risk his own life for his special tunes. With that in mind, my two youngest kids and I put together our awesome playlist on Spotify. The mix is special because they are Glee tunes. Our family has been watching old Glee episodes for several weeks now. The kids are really into the show and someday might even have fond memories of Glee binging with mom and dad when they were young. BTW, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is available now in digital HD and will be out on 4K, Blu-ray and DVD on August 22nd.

Smurfs: The Lost Village Review

Smurfs: The Lost Village | Sony Pictures Home Entertainment

The kids and I recently watched Smurfs: The Lost Village. My younger kids loved it and thought it was funny and entertaining. I thought the new Smurfs movie was OK. The main reason I didn’t enjoy it more is because until I watched it, I didn’t know it was a fully animated film (no live action). The third installment is related to the second Smurfs movie, but humans are not in the film. The story takes place completely in the Smurfs world, which is a shame because I liked the Patrick and Grace characters in the first two Smurfs films. But if you or your kids like animated films or Smurfs, then you’ll enjoy the latest Smurfs movie. Smurfs: The Lost Village, which is rated PG, is available now in 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD.

Jason Bourne 4K Ultra HD Review – Matt Damon is back and is awesome as ever

Jason Bourne (Matt Damon)

The latest installment of the Bourne series is coming out soon on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. The movie is awesome. There’s a lot of action, mystery and drama in the new Jason Bourne movie. And for once, most of the story actually takes place in the United States. After opting out of the last movie, Matt Damon returns to reprise his role as the kick-ass Jason Bourne. He’s perfect for the role and makes me want to be him. The PG-13 rated Jason Bourne is available now on digital HD, and will be available on on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD and on demand on December 6th. Note: Universal Pictures Home Entertainment sent me the movie for review on my dad blog. As always, the opinions expressed are mine and I am not obligated to write a positive review.

The Huntsman: Winter’s War Blu-ray Review

The Huntsman: Winter's War Blu-ray

Snow White and the Huntsman (giveaway) isn’t just a prequel to Snow White and the Huntsman. It’s also a sequel. Odd, but true. Winter’s War starts off with a story about Ravenna and her sister, Freya. Then the story jumps forward seven years to a time after the Snow White movie. Some of the characters in Snow White are in Winter’s War. But this time around, there seems to be less sorcery. There is plenty of action in the story, but the movie is more of an adventure story about The Huntsman and the love of his life. The Huntsman: Winter’s War is available now on Digital HD and will be available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on August 23rd.

Joy Blu-ray Review

Joy - Jennifer Lawrence

I watched Joy last night. The Twentieth Century Fox film is based on the true story of Joy Mangano. In the movie, Joy invents the self-wringing Miracle Mop. The film is about the struggles Joy went through to develop and market her revolutionary mop. I liked the movie — mainly because Jennifer Lawrence was good in the film. Plus I enjoy movies based on true stories. Joy is available now in Blu-ray, 4K Ultra HD, DVD and Digital HD. Note: Joy is rated PG-13 for brief strong language.
