Hello, dads and moms. I can’t believe Easter is coming so early this year. We have not even gotten out our plastic Easter eggs yet. Anyways, I have three winner announcements today. But first, below are the current contests running on my dad blog.
The kids and I watched Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip yesterday. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen an Alvin and the Chipmunks movie. I think this is the fourth one in the series, and it’s been about four years since the third film. We’ve seen the first three movies and this one is similar in the sense that it’s a silly story that is funny and full of fun songs (unless you don’t like the high-pitched voices of the chipmunks). I think most kids and their parents will enjoy The Road Chip. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip is available now on Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD.
Alvin, Simon and Theodore took a road trip in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip. They started in Los Angeles, then went to Texas, New Orleans and finally ended up in Miami. Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment dared us to go on our own road trip by sending us some goodies. We couldn’t afford to travel to Florida right now, so the kids went on a CGI road trip thanks to Photoshop. Check out my photos below.
The Brooklyn film, which was nominated for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay, is available now on DVD, Blu-ray and digital HD. I watched it over the weekend and loved it. I highly recommend Brooklyn for people who enjoy love stories. It’s a good one. The movie is about a young Irish woman who moves to Brooklyn. She falls in love, but then she has to return to Ireland. While back home, she is torn between staying in Ireland or returning back to America. I really enjoyed the story and thought it was very believable. BTW, there are some wonderful musical numbers in the film too.
The kids and I finally saw the new Peanuts movie. We missed it at the theater last year, so we were really looking forward to seeing the new animated film from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. The wait was worth it. We loved it! My children have never seen the Peanuts specials on TV, and it’s been many years since I saw one too. The new movie is pretty much how I remembered the classic show. It has the same style as the old specials. And more importantly, the characters are as loveable as ever. The Peanuts Movie is available now on Digital HD, Blu-ray and DVD. BTW, for a limited time, you can get the limited edition gift set that includes a Snoopy Flying Ace plushie toy. Note: I received a movie for review on my dad blog.
Over the weekend, we had a family movie night. It’s always good when the whole family can sit down together to enjoy a fun movie. This time, we watched the new Peanuts Movie. The animated film was awesome and brought back memories of the classic Charlie Brown specials when I was a kid. My children had a fun time too even though they have never seen a Charlie Brown show before. BTW, I received a viewing kit consisting of Peanuts memorabilia, activities, apparel and All Detergent (for cleaning the kids messy clothes after the party). The Peanuts Movie (Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment) is available now on Blu-ray, DVD and digital HD. Check out my photos of our fun movie night with the Peanuts gang.
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip is coming out soon on Blu-ray and DVD. Everyone’s favorite singing pop stars are back in this fun road adventure. The kids and I can’t wait to see the movie. Your kids probably want to see it too. Who wouldn’t want to hear a trio of chipmunks sing? Thanks to Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, you can win the new Alvin and the Chipmunks Blu-ray on my dad blog. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip is available now on Digital HD, and will be available on DVD and Blu-ray on March 15th. Continue reading to find out how to win this animated film.
The kids and I saw Rio 2 last weekend. We enjoyed the film, and I really like the tunes in the movie. They had a great beat. In this sequel, Blu and Jewel head into the jungle to look for other blue macaws. Jewell grew up in the forest, so she’s quite at home in the wild. Blu, on the other hand, grew up in a house so he’s like a city boy in the jungle. For instance, Blu insists on wearing a fanny pack and navigating via gps. Funny bird. Rio 2 (20th Century Fox) opens in theaters today. Continue reading to learn six things about Rio 2.
My son and I saw an early screening of Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters last week. The film is a sequel to Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. In this movie, Percy and his demigod friends have to go the Sea of Monsters (Bermuda Triangle) in order to find the Golden Fleece. My son and I both enjoyed the film. However, my son was a bit disappointed because he thought the movie deviated too much from the book (it’s based on the Rick Riordan novel by the same name). Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (20th Century Fox) open in theaters today.
My son and I saw a movie screening of The Wolverine earlier in the week. In the film, Logan/Wolverine goes to Japan to say goodbye to a dying man he saved decades ago. Naturally, while in Japan, Logan runs into trouble. My son and I enjoyed the movie, and think fans of the X-Men series will like this film too. The Wolverine (20th Century Fox) opens in theaters today (July 26th). Continue reading for the full review of The Wolverine.
