Loews Royal Pacific Resort Review – spendy, but worth it

After our two days at Disney World and Disney All-Star Resort, we took an Uber to begin our two days at Universal Orlando. For the second half of our Orlando vacation, we stayed at Loews Royal Pacific Resort (6300 Hollywood Way, Orlando, FL 32819). The Royal Pacific is the most beautiful and most expensive hotel we’ve ever stayed at. Our room featured two queen beds and can accommodate up to five people. As I said, the Royal Pacific is a beautiful hotel inside and out. As you can guess by it’s name, the hotel has a tropical theme — almost like you’re on a remote island in the tropics somewhere. The resort even features a gigantic lagoon-style swimming pool. It was a great way to cool off at night.

Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort Review – sporty and affordable

When we went to Disney World last summer, we stayed at Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort. I usually stay at cheaper motels, but All-Star Sports was actually quite affordable at $108 for Thursday and $111 for Friday (we went in mid August). As you can expect, the resort features a sports theme (we slept in the touchdown building). Thanks to a special promotion, we got a preferred room for the same price as a standard room. The inside of the rooms are essentially the same, but the preferred rooms are closer to the lobby and food court. Preferred rooms also have better views — usually of the pool or courtyard.

Free White House Tour

Have you ever wanted to go on a tour of the White House? You really can. We did. Actually, everyone in my family went on the tour except for me. More on this later. To request a free tour of the White House, you need to make the request through your senator or representative in Congress. According to the White House website, you need to submit your request at least 21 days in advance. Based on my experience, you should apply at least three months in advance. It took about three months before I received the White House tour confirmation.
