The Choice DVD Review

The Choice | Lionsgate

I recently watched The Choice on DVD. The Choice is about two young people falling in love. But then tragedy strikes, and one of them is forced to make a very difficult choice. The film is actually another love story by Nicholas Sparks. In my opinion, it’s a good one. So if you’re in the mood for a love story, then this is the movie for you. The Choice (Lionsgate) is available now on digital HD, and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on May 3rd. Note: The Choice is rated PG-13. There’s a couple of implied sex scenes in the film. Otherwise the movie should be fine for most kids.

The Choice is a Love Story

The Choice is about two young people falling in love. Travis is a veterinarian who flirts with women all the time, but he’s never fallen in love — until he met his new neighbor, Gabby. She’s a med student. At first, she couldn’t stand Travis. But then she falls madly in love with him. You could see the sparks fly between the two love birds. Unfortunately, Gabby already has a boyfriend (Ryan). At some point in the story, she has to choose between the two. But she’s not sure who she really loves.

It’s a Nicholas Sparks story

As I mentioned previously, The Choice is based on a Nicholas Sparks novel. You know what that means, right? Yep, tragedy. Like most (all?) of Nicholas Sparks stories, something sad happens near the end of the story. I’m not going to spoil it for you, other than say one of the love birds is forced to make an important choice near the end of the story.

Clark Kent from Smallville is in the Movie

The Choice stars Benjamin Walker and Teresa Palmer. They played the part of the two love birds, Travis and Gabby. They had great chemistry together. I could feel them falling love for each other. Also in the film is Tom Welling, former star of the Smallville series. He played the part of Ryan in the movie. Other cast members include Maggie Grace (Steph), Alexandra Daddario (Monica), Tom Wilkinson (Shep), Jesse C. Boyd (Matt), Brad James (Ben), Noree Victoria (Liz), Anna Enger (Megan), Lou Lou Safran (Katie), Vance Griswold (Jesse), Brett Rice (Dr. McCarthy), Ashley LeConte Campbell (Maryanne McCarthy), and Sharon Blackwood (Cora). The Choice was directed by Ross Katz.
