My family and I went to Marvel Universe LIVE! in Portland yesterday. The event features superheroes and villains in an action-pack setting. It was awesome. We loved it. Their stop in Portland is over. The tour’s next stop is Milwaukee and Green Bay, Wisconsin. For a city near you, check out the Marvel Universe LIVE! tour on their website. If you have not seen the superhero event, you should. It’s a lot of fun and will keep you engaged through out the show.
Yesterday was the first time I’ve been to Marvel Universe LIVE! I was expecting a play with superheroes as the main characters, but the show was more than that. It’s kinda like watching a movie live as it’s being filmed in a single continuous shot.
The action was amazing and the stunts were incredible — especially the motorcycle stunts. Many of the stunts required precision and great timing. I’m amazed the motorcycles didn’t crash into each other in some of the action scenes. One of the characters even did a 360 degree loop de loop from a short ramp.
I was distracted by the action scenes, so I was a little confused about the storyline. From what I could remember, the story involves Thor shattering the cosmic cube. But Loki plans to reform the cube by finding the fragments. Various superheroes team up to stop Loki and other super villains from taking over the world.
There were a lot of superheroes and villains in Marvel Universe LIVE! The good guys include Ironman, Spider-man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Captain Marvel, Hawkeye, Falcon, Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Black Widow, Black Cat and Nick Fury. The villains include Loki, Red Skull, Madame Hydra, Electro, Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus.
