Minions Sweepstakes – win promotional items and VIP passes

Minions - Universal Pictures

My kids are excited about the new Minions movie, which will open in theaters on July 10th. We can’t wait to see their new film. According to the synopsis, Minions is an origin story that takes place before both Despicable Me movies. BTW, there’s an early screening of the movie in the Portland area on Tuesday, July 7th. And thanks to Universal Pictures, a lucky reader of my dad blog can win a Minions prize pack consisting of promotional items for the film and an early entry VIP ticket (good for 4 people) to see the screening in Portland, Oregon (Regal Lloyd Center). To enter my contest, leave a comment about your favorite Despicable Me character. The deadline to enter is June 26th. The winner will be randomly selected. The screening is in Portland, so the giveaway is limited to readers in Oregon and Washington.

Minions Synopsis

The story of Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s Minions begins at the dawn of time. Starting as single-celled yellow organisms, Minions evolve through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters. Continuously unsuccessful at keeping these masters — from T.rex to Napoleon — the Minions find themselves without someone to serve and fall into a deep depression. But one Minion named Kevin has a plan, and he — alongside teenage rebel Stuart and lovable little Bob — ventures out into the world to find a new evil boss for his brethren to follow. The trio embarks upon a thrilling journey that ultimately leads them to their next potential master, Scarlet Overkill (Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock), the world’s first-ever female super-villain. They travel from frigid Antarctica to 1960’s New York City, ending in mod London, where they must face their biggest challenge to date: saving all of Minionkind from annihilation.

  1. Oh my gosh! we love the minions! Our daughter when she was six was a minion for Halloween, so dang cute! But, Kevin is our fave!

  2. My favorite Despicable Me character is Gru. He was so soft hearted, but needed the kids to show that to him. It made for some hilarious scenes. The Minions made that movie, as a whole, though. They are my family’s absolute favorite! We have been looking forward to this movie for months! I can’t wait.

  3. Our whole family loves minions and have them around house and cars. My favorite things we have is my son’s Nike elite minion socks. So cute

  4. I love Bob, he describes my personality to a T. My own mother couldn’t describe me in a way that one would fit me haha

  5. I love Gru the last movie with the way he interacted with his daughters in the last movie. For an ex-villan trying to do the right thing his character was great one of Steve Carrells best characters.

  6. My favorite character has always been Dave, Bob and Kevin. These minions remind me of all my kiddies (nieces and nephews). They are my personal minons.

  7. My favorite Despicable Me character is Stuart. He is playful and funny and is the most innocent of all…. Hate that he is always being bullied by others!!

  8. Freakin love the Minions so much that I was dressed like Stuart spinning the turntables at our Army’s Halloween party. Except I had a yellow hoodie with the big snorkeling goggles, cartoon blue overalls and blk combat boots. Everyone loved it. But my favorite is Jerry! He is the small cute one of the group so of course they have to have him part of the boy band singing their slow jam hit “I Swear (Underwear)”

  9. All of the minions make me chuckle, but I must admit for an extra fondness for Bob. I think I see parts of myself in that short jolly minion!

  10. I’ll admit I’m partial to Agnes. The “It’s so fluffy” line gets me every time. Excited to see the new movie. It’s great that the minions get their own story this time!

  11. I love Gru – he is a tender hearted villan. Love the way he interacts with the minions. Minion Stuart is my fav!

  12. My favorite is Agnes shevis so funny make her funny sound with her mouth and saying it so fluffy is so cute the way she says it, my daughter walks around saying its so fluffy now and then Stuart is my second favorite

  13. What I enjoy most is the excitement generated by my grandkids who luv, quote and praise their favorite little Minion characters.

  14. I love all the minions. They are so independent and chaotic at the same time. Scarlet Overkill has been outsmarted by these cute and adorable little creatures.

  15. My daughter and I love the Minions, they are so cute and funny. My favorite Despicable Me character is Gru.

  16. We have several favorite Characters.
Gru is the most lovable evil genius I’ve ever seen,
the whole Minion clan stole our hearts from the first time
you see them in the first movie. Agnes, Margo and Edith
each provide a wonderful side of girlhood and we loved
the Agent 99-ishness in the addition of Lucy.

  17. I was quite fond of the Lucy character from DM2. A very well written and well acted strong female character was a nice change to see.

  18. Minions forever! Though my favorite DM character is Agnes! The “so fluffy” line from the trailer is what prompted me to watch the movie, I’m so glad I did!!!

  19. We saw the first movie in the park by our house, loved it. Have to say Agnes, “it’s so fluffy”. Love her.

  20. I’d have to say it’s Dave. Poor “man”, it appears he had no control over his bazooka/rocket launcher and it seemed to fire at will when he became too excited! (There’s a pill for that!) :-)

  21. I love Bod….. my best friend loves the minions more then I do and its a little freaky cuz shes almost 21 but you’re never to old for cartoons lol

  22. We love Gru. His ability to keep trying to be the good guy he knows his heart is makes me tear up every time. He’s a tough guy with a soft spot.

  23. I love Agnes because of her big eyes, cute expressions, and favorite line “It’s so fluffy I’m gonna die.”

  24. Great movie! Love all the characters! The characters are what make it such a great movie! The Minions are the 1st Favorite……but we love them all! <3

  25. I LOVE the Minions! They are soooooo funny! My favorite character is probably Kevin, with Agnes as a very close second.

  26. I dislike the yellow jellybean shaped critters, but my kiddos and hubs adore them! This would be a great reason to get out of the house for a bit. I do however love Gru. <3

  27. My girlfriend loves the Monions. She says there so wise. So I’d love to make her happy by taking her to see it either tonight at the screening or cup tickets for opening night.
