Get Upside Down with Dairy Queen Blizzards

Dairy Queen Oreo Cookies and Salted Caramel Truffle Blizzards

Have you heard of Dairy Queen’s #GetUpsideDown promotion? During the month of April, as part of their 75th Fanniversary, Dairy Queen is serving their Blizzard treats upside down. And if the Blizzard Treat isn’t served upside down, you get a free Blizzard on your next visit. Cool, right? BTW, I am participating in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Dairy Queen. I received a product sample and promotional item to thank me for my participation. As always, the opinions expressed here are mine and I am not obligated to write a positive review.

Dairy Queen Salted Caramel Truffle Blizzard and Oreo Cookies

When I heard about DQ’s #GetUpsideDown campaign, I thought the idea was crazy. After all, won’t the ice cream treat fall out of the cup? Nope. That’s because even though it’s a creamy soft serve treat, it’s too thick fall out of the cup. BTW, did you know Dairy Queen invented the soft serve ice cream, which eventually morphed into their Blizzard treat.

I took the kids to our local Dairy Queen [Facebook | Twitter] over the weekend. We’re actually in our rain season here, but we don’t need a nice sunny day to enjoy ice cream. It’s good anytime of the year. This was actually the first time all my kids have been to Dairy Queen together. What a shame. They have been missing out. I remembered in my younger years, it was tradition to stop by Dairy Queen after skiing all day with my friends. Now that I’ve introduced my children to Dairy Queen, I’m planning to come more often and start a new family tradition.

We tried the Oreo Cookies and Salted Caramel Truffle Blizzards. But Dairy Queen actually have 15 different Blizzard treats. Check out the flavors below:

  • Oreo Cookies
  • Salted Caramel Truffle
  • Peanut Butter Cookie Dough Smash
  • Brownie Cookie Dough
  • Brownie Batter
  • Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough
  • Strawberry Cheesecake
  • Chocolate Xtreme
  • Banana Split
  • Turtle Pecan Cluster
  • Snickers Candy Bars
  • Butterfinger
  • M&M’s Milk Chocolate Candies
  • Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup
  • Heath

As I mentioned previously, this month is a good time to visit your local DQ restaurant and order a Blizzard. The company is hoping to flip 15 million Blizzard treats during April. If you’re lucky, they will forget and you will get a free treat on your next visit. BTW, the #GetUpsideDown promotion is partnership with Oreo, America’s favorite cookie and key ingredient in one of Dairy Queen’s best-selling Blizzard treats of all time.

  1. Our whole family loves blizzards, and that’s dangerous now that my son works at DQ! My favorite is the chocolate dipped strawberry.
