If you’re a regular reader of my dad blog, then you know the kids and I love Halloween. In my opinion, Halloween should be a national holiday. We love decorating and dressing up for Halloween. Last year, my kids dressed up as Flash, Deathstroke, Apple White, and a serial killer. That’s right, my youngest daughter wanted to be a serial killer. I hope that’s not a sign of things to come. For the next Halloween, she’s going to dress up as Harley Quinn. If you don’t know, Harley Quinn is the Joker’s sidekick. Like the Joker, Harley Quinn is a prankster and has a wicked sense of humor. Kinda of like my youngest daughter.
As you can see in the photos on this page, my daughter looks cute in her costume. We got our Harley Quinn costume from Anytime Costumes. They offer a variety of costumes for little ones, tweens, teenagers and adults. The Harley Quinn costume came with the dress, eye mask, headpiece, glovelettes, and tights. I didn’t come with her giant mallet, but I plan on making one later.
As I mentioned previously, Harley Quinn is a sidekick of the Joker. If you’re interested in seeing more Batman villains, you should head on over to the Comic Vine website.
Here’s my take on the Harley Quinn from Anytime Costumes. First, it looks cute on my daughter. Second, it doesn’t match the Harley Quinn I’m use to seeing in comic books, but it’s close enough. This is actually a good thing if you consider her outfits were a little bit racy at times in the graphics novels.
One thing you should keep in mind when you order is that the costume is a little on the small size. For instance, we ordered a small tween costume. My daughter is only nine and she’s on the short side. Yet the tween costume fitted her just fine. I suggest you order one size up.
On another note, I had to cut the tags from the mask, headpiece and dress. They were very long — one tag was about two inches long!
