On Saturday, I went to the grand opening of a new cabinet and countertop showroom. I love what I saw in the showroom, but a dream kitchen isn’t cheap. That’s why I’m happy to tell you about the Summer of Giveaways Sweepstakes. The contest isn’t hosted on my dad blog, but you can win some great prizes — like a dream kitchen ($25,000 kitchen makeover). Other prizes include a Troy-Bilt Riding Lawn Mower, $1,000 Target gift card, and Dyson D65 Vacuum. The deadline to enter is September 29, 2014.
The sweepstakes is sponsored by American Home Shield (owner of brands like Terminex, ServiceMaster and Merry Maids). AHS is giving away about $10,000 in prizes every week. Sweet, right? It’s easy to enter. Just fill out the short form on their contest page, like their Facebook page, and then get a free Home Protection Plan quote at ahshome.com and quote.ahs.com
Now for some background behind the giveaway. On average, American homeowners can spend one to four percent of their home’s value annually on maintenance and repairs (source: Freddie Mac). In fact, a 2013 study conducted by Decision Analyst for American Home Shield found that within a 12-month period, the typical household will spend an average of $1,302 on repairs and replacements. It can be expensive to own a home. There’s no place like home — until something goes wrong or breaks down, leaving you with hundreds if not thousands of dollars in unwanted expenses. There are many benefits to owning your own home, but every homeowner also knows that a lot can go wrong, and when it does — it can be costly.
[Disclosure: I will receive something for writing this post. American Home Shield partnered with several bloggers like me to raise awareness about this sweepstakes. As always, the opinions expressed are mine and I am not obligated to write a positive review.]
