Thanks to Foster Farms, five readers of my dad blog will win an Oven Ready Entrée. We tried the new Foster Farms Oven Ready Entrée a couple of days ago. We loved it. The dish was yummy, and the chicken was moist (even the next day!). There are four flavors: Chile Verde, Roasted Red Pepper, Zesty Thai and Honey Roasted Garlic flavors. We bought the roasted red pepper dish. Even though the entree has red pepper in it, the dish was not spicy. I don’t actually like spicy food. I think that’s why my wife selected the roasted red pepper. She likes to mess with me. Looks like it back-fired on her.
The Foster Farms Oven Ready Entrées feature two all-natural, fresh chicken breasts. The chicken is American Humane Certified and 99% fat free. The roasted red pepper dish does not contain trans fat and has a modest 210mg of sodium per serving. In addition to tasting great and easy to make, the amount of salt is important to me because of my high blood pressure.
The new Oven Ready Entrées are easy to cook. All you have to do is cut a slit in the film to vent it. Then stick it in the oven for about half an hour. BTW, the entree is packaged in a recyclable oven-safe tray.
The downside to the new Foster Farms chicken entree is that it is only available for consumers in Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Utah and Washington. Luckily for me, I live in Oregon!
