Review: Madly Madagascar DVD – perfect for Valentine’s Day
With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I thought now would be a good time to write a review of the Madly Madagascar DVD. The latest Madagascar DVD is very short (only 22 minutes), but it’s a fun Valentines movie for the kids. My children loved it and have watched it multiple times already. It’s a good thing it is short. Madly Madagascar is available now. It has a list price of $14.98, but you can currently purchase it on Amazon for $4.99. Great price, right?

A Valentines theme
Madly Madagascar takes place between the second and third Madagascar films. In this story, Alex is sad because he didn’t receive very many cards for Valentine’s Day, which is his favorite holiday. Meanwhile, Marty meets an Okapi girl who strikes his fancy, but she’s not that interested until Marty uses a love potion from King Julien. In another storyline, Melman tries to make his first Valentine’s Day with Gloria special.
The cast is back
Sometimes in short DVDs like Madly Madagascar, the studio brings in cheaper replacements for the original stars. Fortunately, that’s not the case with Madly Madagascar. The movie features the voices of Ben Stiller (Alex the Lion), Chris Rock (Marty the Zebra), David Schwimmer (Melman the Giraffe), Jada Pinkett Smith (Gloria the Hippopotamus), Danny Jacobs (King Julien the Ring-tailed lemur), Tom McGrath (Skipper the Penguin), Chris Miller (Kowalski the Penguin), Christopher Knights (Private the Penguin), Cedric the Entertainer (Maurice the Aye-aye), Andy Richter (Mort the Mouse lemur), and Taraji P. Henson (Okapi).
First Flight Bonus Feature
This bonus feature is a cute story about a man who teaches a bird how to fly. We loved it. I think parents will love this feature more than the main feature.
Hammy’s Boomerang Adventure Bonus Feature
This bonus is is a funny story that features characters from Over the Hedge. In the story, a group of young porcupines use a boomerang to play a prank on Hammy.

This movie sounds so cute. My son loves all different types of animals so I think he would like this movie.
