Secret of the Wings ~ DisneyToon Studios

My youngest daughter and I went to an early screening of The Secret of the Wings (Disney Studios) earlier in the month. I think this is the fourth installment of the Disney Fairies series. In The Secret of the Wings, Tinker Bell meets her twin sister, Periwinkle. My daughter and I enjoyed the movie. In fact, my daughter told me afterwards to buy the DVD so her sister and brothers could watch the movie. She thinks they will love it too. The Secret of the Wings is available now on Blu-ray and DVD. The Secret of the Wings Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack retails for $49.99, but you can currently purchase it on Amazon for $29.96. Amazon is also selling The Secret of the Wings DVD for $16.99 (list price of $29.99).

Tinkerbell has a twin sister
In The Secret of the Wings, Tinkerbell heads into the Winter Woods even though she’s forbidden to. That’s when she discovers her wings sparkle. This of course leads Tinkerbell to make another trip to the Winter Woods. And that’s when she finds out she has a twin sister, Periwinkle. They are happy to discover they are twins, but unfortunately they are not allow to be together. Tinkerbell is forbidden to be in the Winter Woods, and Periwinkle isn’t allow to leave the Winter Woods. The rest of the story is about Tinkerbell’s and Periwinkle’s secret attempts to spend time together.

There are warm fairies and winter fairies
It appears there are two types of fairies: warm ones and winter ones. Tinkerbell and her friends are warm fairies, while Periwinkle and her friends are winter fairies. This is actually why Periwinkle and Tinkerbell have to be apart. The Winter Woods is too cold for Tinkerbell and could cause her wings to freeze. On the other hand, the land outside of the Winter Woods is too warm for Periwinkle and could cause her wings to wilt.

James Bond is a fairy
The two main characters are voiced by Mae Whitman (Tinker Bell) and Lucy Hale (Periwinkle). The Secret of the Wings also features former James Bond actor Timothy Dalton (Lord Milori), Megan Hilty (Rosetta), Anjelica Huston (Queen Clarion), Matt Lanter (Sled), Jesse McCartney (Terence), Lucy Liu (Silvermist), Raven-Symoné (Iridessa), Debby Ryan (Spike), Pamela Adlon (Vidia), Angela Bartys (Fawn), Jeff Bennett (Clank), Grey DeLisle (Gliss), and Jane Horrocks (Fairy Mary). The Secret of the Wings was directed by Roberts Gannaway and Peggy Holmes.
