The 411 for American Horror Story Blu-ray Combo Pack

  • Excellent cast and acting
  • Good special effects
  • It’s a little confusing at times

Rating Not rated, but I would give it a R rating

Genre Horror, mystery, drama

He cheats, then moves his family into a haunted house
The story starts off with Vivien Harmon catching her husband (Ben Harmon) cheating on her. Then the story flashes forward to the family driving from Boston to California. They move into a charming house. What they don’t know is that there has been a series of murders in the house and it’s now haunted.

The ghost with the most
American Horror Story is about ghosts that haunt a house, but the series is different from other movies in the horror genre. For instance, it’s hard to tell the difference between the living and the undead. The ghosts can been seen by everyone and act as if they are still alive. They eat, talk and even have sex with the living. Weird, right? Trying to figure out who is alive and who’s dead is one of the best things about the series.

Jessica Lange is excellent
The main stars of the show are Dylan McDermott (Ben Harmon) and Connie Britton (Vivien Harmon). Everyone does a great job in the series. However, Jessica Lange (Constance Langdon) steals the show in the scenes she’s in. She’s wicked. American Horror Story also features Taissa Farmiga (Violet Harmon), Evan Peters (Tate Langdon), Lily Rabe (Nora Montgomery), Denis O’Hare (Larry Harvey), Frances Conroy (Moira O’Hara), Zachary Quinto (Dr. Thredson), Sarah Paulson (Lana), and Kate Mara (Hayden McClaine).

American Horror Story Season 1 Blu-ray Bonus Features

  • Behind the Fright: The Making of American Horror Story
This is an interesting feature that help fills in some of the gaps in the story.

  • The Murder House presented by Eternal Darkness Tours of Hollywood
I love this bonus feature. It’s a realistic clip from the murder house tour shown in a couple of the episodes.

  • Overture to Horror: Creating the Title Sequence
This is an interesting feature if you’re planing on staging a haunted house

  • Out of the Shadows: Meet the House Ghosts
In this feature, you see clips of the ghosts featured in the series.

  • Audio Commentary on Pilot Episode by Ryan Murphy
I didn’t try this feature, but it would be good to turn on the audio commentary if you like this kind of feature.
