Lionsgate Home Entertainment and HIT Entertainment sent me their new Barney DVD for review and giveaway on my dad blog. The title of the two-disc DVD set is Barney: Most Loveable Moments. As usual, Barney the purple dinosaur teaches kids through story telling, singing, and dancing. This Barney DVD set is about 199 minutes long, and includes ten episodes and seven bonus features. Barney: Most Loveable Moments is available now on DVD, digital download and video on demand. The new Barney DVD is priced at $14.98.
Barney: Most Loveable Moments Episodes
Once Upon A Fairy Tale
This episode starts off with a tea party and then leads into writing a fairy tale. One of the kids is having trouble writing a story, so Barney reads some fairy tales to encourage the kid to use his imagination.
The Reluctant Dragon
In this episode, the children are scared of a spider. Barney then tells the story about a dragon that was feared by villagers. But once people got to know the dragon, they saw that the dragon was nice and everyone became friends with the dragon.
The Princess and the Frog
The theme in this episode is about taking care of pets. Baby Bop agrees to take care of a frog. Then she meets a talking frog. The two becomes friends, but then Baby Bop starts to act like a spoiled princess.
The episode starts off with three children painting. However, one of the kids doesn’t think painting is fun because she’s not good at it. Barney then takes the girl to France so she could learn all about painting from an artist.
Little Red Rockin’ Hood
This story is a different version of Little Red Riding Hood. In this version, grandpa starts a band and both Little Red Rockin’ Hood and the wolf want to be the lead singer. The two don’t get along because Little Red Rockin’ Hood wants to be a country singer while the wolf wants to be a rock star.
Riff hears music everywhere, but then she meets someone who needs a hearing aid to hear and uses sign language to communicate. Barney then tells a story about Beethoven. He was a composer who couldn’t hear.
The kids are putting on a show. They uses boxes to build a set and put on costumes so they can pretend to be anything they want to be.
Barney, Riff, Baby Bop and B.J. find a treasure map. They want to find the treasure, but the clues involve counting. Baby Bop has trouble counting, but she learns eventually.
Days of the Week
In this episode, Riff, Baby Bop and B.J. are anxiously waiting for the petting zoo to arrive. While they are waiting for the animals, they learn about the days of the week.
Squares, Squares Everywhere
The kids are building a wall in this episode. While they are building a wall, they learn about squares and other shapes like circles, triangles and rectangles.
