COOLA Sport SPF 35 Sunscreen Spray

I received some COOLA sunscreens for review on my dad blog. Normally, mid-September would be too late in the year for reviewing sunscreen products. But this isn’t a normal year in the Pacific Northwest. This year we’ve been blessed with sunshine for the last three months. In most years, it would be raining by now. But we’ve only had a trace amount of rain since early July. The current forecast is upper 80’s for the entire week. I love the sunny weather, but that also means I have to continue applying sunscreens like the ones COOLA [Facebook | Twitter] sent me: Sport Spray, Plant UV Body, and Plant UV Face.

COOLA Sport SPF 35 Sunscreen Spray
Normally I’m not fond of sunscreen sprays, but I do like this one. It smells fruity and makes me feel like I’m drinking a Piña Colada on a tropical island with a hot chick (my wife, of course). The SPF 35 sunscreen also makes me tingle when the spray makes contact with my skin. According to the product literature, the COOLA Sport Spray will nourish, repair and hydrate skin with 97% certified organic inactive ingredients like aloe, cucumber, algae and strawberry extracts, and red raspberry seed oil (a natural sunscreen and anti-inflammatory rich in Omega 3 and 6). The COOLA Sport SPF 35 Sunscreen Spray is priced at $32 (6 fl oz / 180ml). BTW, if you’re not fond of Piña Colada, there is also a Citrus Mimosa version of the spray.

COOLA Sport SPF 35 Sunscreen Spray Highlights

  • Easy spray-on application
  • 97% organic inactive ingredients
  • Infused with anti-aging antioxidants
  • Naturally scented
  • Water resistant (40 minutes)
  • No nano-sized particles

COOLA Plant UV Body and Face Sunscreens

COOLA Plant UV Body Sunscreen
This SPF 30 unscented sunscreen is also a moisturizer. It comes in a squeezable tube that will easily fit in a purse (not that I have one). The sunscreen is creamy and it soothes the skin. The body sunscreen features Plant Protection Technology, which is suppose to nourish your skin and protect it from harmful UV rays. According to the product literature, the product uses organic cucumber extract to help soothe skin in or after the sun. It is infused with organic emollients like shea butter and coconut oil to moisturize and soften skin. The COOLA Plant UV Body Sunscreen is priced at $42 for a tube (3oz / 90ml).

COOLA Plant UV Body and Face Sunscreens Highlights

  • Plant stem cells boost SPF protection
  • Transparent application
  • Zinc only actives
  • Most advanced sunscreen available
  • Water resistant (80 minutes)
  • No nano-sized particles

COOLA Plant UV Face Sunscreen
Like the body sunscreen, this SPF 30 sunscreen for the face is also a moisturizer. The unscented sunscreen comes in a tube with a pump. I’ve never used a sunscreen with a pump before, but the pump action makes sense because it comes out as a lotion. The face sunscreen also features Plant Protection Technology and uses orazanol and organic beeswax to boost natural sun protection. It is infused with organic emollients like antioxidant-rich olive oil and omega-3 enriched linseed oil to moisturize, smooth and soften skin. The COOLA Plant UV Face Sunscreen is priced at $42 (1.7oz / 50ml tube).

  1. Coola sunscreens is great. It doesn’t have the best smell, but it doesn’t make your face look all white or dry out like other sunscreen and it moisturizes your face. And you really need to use sunscreen all year round unless you are indoors and staying away from the windows. You don’t need sun to wear sunscreen.
