Thomas & Friends: Blue Mountain Mystery DVD ~ Lionsgate Home Entertainment and HIT Entertainment

Lionsgate Home Entertainment and HIT Entertainment sent me the latest Thomas & Friends DVD for review and giveaway on my dad blog. The title of the upcoming Thomas the train movie is Thomas & Friends: Blue Mountain Mystery. It’s a full-length movie. Don’t worry, it’s only 61 minutes long so your little pre-schooler won’t lose interest while watching it. And if your children are like my two youngest kids (ages three and seven), they will want to watch it multiple times. Thomas & Friends: Blue Mountain Mystery will be available on Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack, DVD, digital download and on-demand next Tuesday (September 18, 2012). The Blue Mountain Mystery DVD has a list price of $17.97. The Blu-ray version is priced at $24.99. However, you can get both of them for a little less on Amazon.

My toddler loves Thomas, and he loves this title as well. In my opinion, Thomas & Friends: Blue Mountain Mystery is the best Thomas DVD we have seen. In addition to the 61-minute movie, the DVD and Blu-ray also includes four bonus features.

Thomas & Friends: Blue Mountain Mystery Movie

The full-length movie starts off with an accident at the Blue Mountain Quarry. Thomas is sent to take the place of an injured train. While there, Thomas sees a little engine that he has never seen before. When he asks the other trains about the small green engine, everyone pretends they don’t know what Thomas is talking about. This puzzles Thomas, so he continues to snoop around until he’s able to confront the mysterious green engine. That’s when Thomas finds out the train’s name is Luke, and he’s hiding because of something he did long ago. Luke is afraid if Sir Topham Hatt knew of his existence, he would be taken away and will never see his friends again. When Thomas asks what Luke did, he refuses to say. This of course, makes Thomas even more curious about the mystery surrounding Luke.

Thomas & Friends: Blue Mountain Mystery Bonus Features

  • Blue Mountain Hide & Peep Game
In this bonus game, Thomas and Luke play hide and seek. It’s your job to find Luke by using the remote.

  • Learn About Standard & Narrow Gauge Engines
Thomas is a standard gauge train, but the trains at the Blue Mountain Quarry are narrow gauge engines. This bonus feature does an excellent job explaining the differences between standard and narrow gauge engines.

  • Blue Mountain Mystery Karaoke Music Video
In this is a fun music video, you and your kids get to sing along to the lyrics of the Blue Mountain Mystery theme song.

  • Working Together Karaoke Music Video
In this karaoke music feature, you and your kids sing along to Working Together, which was also featured in the movie.

  1. Oh, yes- Thomas, of course! My favorite is Percy and we play trains at least once a day! Thomas has been so great for my child- no bad words, there is always a lesson to be learned, and the toys are super durable!! Thank you for the chance to win this movie! My son would be thrilled!!

  2. My boys have been excited for this movie for a long time. They can’t wait until it comes out. They love all the engines, but right now they are crazy about Luke- even though they haven’t seen him yet.
