Fireman Sam: Heroic Rescue Adventures DVD

Lionsgate and HIT Entertainment sent me the new Fireman Sam: Heroic Rescue Adventures DVD for review and giveaway on my dad blog. My two youngest children really enjoyed the latest Fireman Sam DVD. While watching it, I noticed two things about the stories. First, everyone calls Sam when they need help even though there are several firemen on the show. Second thing I noticed is that one of the firemen looks a little like a young Elvis Presley. His name is even Elvis and he sings in a couple of the episodes. BTW, Fireman Sam: Heroic Rescue Adventures will be available on DVD, and via digital download and video-on-demand on August 7, 2012. It has a list price of $9.98, but you can currently get it for $8.99 on Amazon.

The DVD is only 55 minutes long, but it does feature six episodes.

Fireman Sam: Heroic Rescue Adventures Episodes

Towering Inferno
In this episode, the firemen are about to practice a rescue. Meanwhile, the kids are playing hide and seek. When no one is looking, Norman hides in the practice building. Then the firemen set the building on fire and the crew ends up doing a rescue for real.

Seeing Red
Elvis sings a song about how red is the color for danger. Meanwhile, a woman takes a dog (Nipper) on a long walk. Her daughter injuries herself and they need to call for help. Unfortunately, Nipper buried the cell phone. The dog eventually makes up for it by going for help.

Pontypandy Extreme
A truck accidentally runs over Norman’s skateboard and breaks it. Norman then schemes to take the coins in a wishing well to buy a new skateboard. But once again, Norman gets in trouble by getting stuck in the wishing well.

Elvis Sings the Blues
In this episode, Elvis sings again. But he ends up breaking his leg when he accidentally slips. Elvis doesn’t think he can help people anymore, but then he pitches in when he’s the only one around that can help Norman (his head is stuck in a fence). Question: why doesn’t Norman always get in trouble?

Fireworks for Mandy
Nipper takes a flare from Tom the helicopter pilot, and leaves it somewhere. Mandy then finds it. She wants to return it, but Norman tries to convince her to set it off like fireworks. Then Penny, a firewoman, needs the flare because she got stuck descending a cliff.

Double Trouble
Norman’s cousin, Derek, comes for a visit. Norman is jealous because Derek appears to be the complete opposite of Norman. In addition, Norman’s mom calls Derek her “little treasure.” At this point, Norman tries to get Derek in trouble.

Alarm on the Beach
This bonus episode is only available via VOD
