The dwarves make a giant entrance
Mirror Mirror features many twists to the classic Snow White fairy tale. For instance, Snow White is a much stronger character and doesn’t really need a prince to rescue her. In fact, she rescues the prince once or twice in the movie. There’s also a beast in the woods that I don’t remember from the Snow White story. In addition, the dwarfs are not miners. In fact, the biggest change involves the dwarfs. I don’t want to ruin the surprise for you, so I’m just going to say the dwarfs are not adorable like the ones in the Grimm fairytale.

Not that funny
After watching the movie trailers for Mirror Mirror, I was expecting a comedy. But it’s not a comedy. There were some humor and lots of silliness for kids, but I didn’t think the movie was funny. Mirror Mirror is more of a light drama with some action and silliness. In my opinion, very young kids will probably get bored. At least my six-year old daughter did. She claimed she likes the movie, but she kept fidgeting throughout the movie. I noticed the same thing with a five-year boy a couple of seats over. In addition, Mirror Mirror doesn’t have any adorable characters that will appeal to young children.

Julia Roberts is one bad apple
I was surprised Julia Roberts was selected to play the part of the evil queen. I’m not use to seeing Roberts as the bad guy, but she does a convincing job in Mirror Mirror. Her sister, Lisa Roberts Gillan, is also in the film. She played the part of the mirror image of the evil queen. Lisa looked just like Julia in the film. When I was watching the movie, I thought Julia played both parts. The movie also features Lily Collins (Snow White), Armie Hammer (Prince Alcott), Nathan Lane (Brighton), Jordan Prentice (Napoleon), Mark Povinelli (Half Pint), Joe Gnoffo (Grub), Danny Woodburn (Grimm), Sebastian Saraceno (Wolf), Martin Klebba (Butcher), Ronald Lee Clark (Chuckles), Robert Emms (Charles Renbock), Mare Winningham (Baker Margaret), Michael Lerner (Baron), and Sean Bean (the king). Mirror Mirror was directed by Tarsem Singh.

Great costumes
I was really impressed with the costumes in Mirror Mirror. The queen wore one stunning outfit after another. The costumes in Mirror Mirror were much more impressive than the ones in Hunger Games. In addition, some of the scenes in the movie were gorgeous.
