If you’re looking for a gift for someone who loves video games, then check out my list below.

Sonic Generations (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, 3DS)
This is a fun game for the entire family. My kids really love this video game. I’ve never played a Sonic game before or watched an episode of the TV show. So it’s safe for me to say, you can still have a blast without knowing anything about the little hedgehog. The Sonic Generations video game kinda reminded me of Super Mario, but at a much faster pace. The Xbox version of this game is $50.89, the PS3 version is $55.32, and the PC version is $29.95. There’s also a Nintendo 3DS version of Sonic Generations for $59.99.

Winter Stars (Xbox Kinect, PlayStation 3, Wii)
The Winter Stars video game is a fun stocking stuffer for kids, dads, and moms that are into winter sports. When I played the game, I felt like I was in the Winter Olympics. Winter Stars is available for the Xbox Kinect ($40), Sony PlayStation 3 ($30) and Nintendo Wii ($30). It’s rated E for everyone. You can read my review of Winter Stars on my geek dad blog.

Sing 4: The Hits Edition (Wii)
Sing 4 (review) is a fun video game for the little singer in the family. Actually, my three oldest kids love Sing 4 even though only one of them loves to sing (my youngest girl thinks she’s going to win American Idol when she’s old enough to compete). This video game even includes a microphone, which is a good thing because none of the stores in our area sell a microphone for the Wii. Sing 4: The Hits Edition is available now for $39.99.

May’s Mystery: Forbidden Memories (DS)
This Nintendo DS video game is a great stocking stuffer for someone that loves to solve puzzles. The May’s Mystery video game features over 270 puzzles and hours of fun for the thinking gamer. The Forbidden Memories DS video game is available now for $39.99. It’s rated E for everyone, but it’s better suited for tweens and older. Read my May’s Mystery review on my geek dad blog.

Centipede: Infestation (Wii, 3DS)
Centipede: Infestation is a fun and simple game for the the gamer in your life who loves arcade style video games. In this run-n-gun shooting game, you have to kill all the mutant bugs before they kill you. The game reminded me of the Starship Troopers movies. The Wii version of Centipede: Infestation is available now for $28.39. The 3DS version is priced at $28.39. The video game is rated E10+ for violence. You can read my Centipede: Infestation review over on my geek dad blog.

I Spy Castle (DS)
This is a fun stocking stuffer for people of all ages. In this video game for the DS, your goal is to find the various items in the game. As you can tell by the title, the game has a castle theme. I Spy Castle is available now for $16. It’s rated E for everyone. Feel free to read my review of I Spy Castle on my geek dad blog.

Gem Smashers (Wii, 3DS)
This is a fun and easy video game to play. In this video game for the Nintendo Wii and 3DS, you smash gems to help your fellow creatures escape from an evil scientist. Gem Smashers is currently $19.99 for the Wii version, and $29.99 for the 3DS version. It’s rated E for everyone, but will appeal mainly to younger kids. Read my Gem Smashers review over on my geek dad blog.

Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town (Wii, DS)
This is a fun game (review) for a little one. It’s simple and easy to play. In this video game, you collect snowflakes and hand out toys to kids. My youngest daughter loves this game. The Wii version is priced at $19.96. The DS version of Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town is priced at $14.99. Feel free to enter my giveaway for this title.

Magic School Bus Oceans (DS)
Here’s a fun a video game for a little one. As you can tell from the title, this Nintendo DS game is based on The Magic School Bus series. Magic School Bus Oceans is an educational game and will appeal mainly to younger kids. The video game is currently priced at $16. The game is rated E for everyone. Check out my review of Magic School Bus Oceans on my geek dad blog.

Harry Potter 5-7 (Wii, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, DS, 3DS, Sony PSP)
My oldest wizard has been waiting about a year for this title (she got Harry Potter 1-4 last year). This video game is a magical stocking stuffer for the little wizards and witches in your life. Harry Potter 5-7 is available for the Nintendo Wii ($39.96), Xbox 360 ($39.96), PlayStation 3 ($39.99), Nintendo DS ($19.96), Nintendo 3DS ($31.09), and Sony PSP ($29.99).

LEGO Battles Ninjago (DS)
I bought this game for my son for Christmas. It’s still gift wrapped and unplayed, but I think this is another awesome game for a boy (or a girl). As some of you parents know, Ninjago is one of the hot toys this year. My son loves collecting and building LEGO Ninjago sets. I think he’ll like the game too. LEGO Battles Ninjago for the DS is available for $27.96.
