Giveaway: Young Adult
Sorry, the title of this post is a little misleading. I’m not giving away a young adult. I think there might be a law against that. However, I am giving a prize pack to help promote Paramount Pictures’ upcoming movie, Young Adult (opens this Friday). The prize pack consists of a t-shirt, mini poster, and shot glasses (sorry, booze not included). The giveaway on my dad blog ends sometime this Friday (December 16th), so don’t wait until the last day to enter.
Charlize Theron is the star of Young Adult. She’s one of my favorite actresses. When I first saw her in Mighty Joe Young, I thought she was just a pretty girl. But after seeing her in other movies (like Monster, North Country, and The Burning Plain), I’ve come to realize Charlize is a very talented actress. In Young Adult, Theron plays the part of Mavis Gary. She’s a writer of teen literature who returns to her small hometown to reclaim her happily married high school sweetheart (Patrick Wilson). When returning home proves more difficult than she thought, Mavis forms an unusual bond with a former classmate (Patton Oswalt) who hasn’t quite gotten over high school either. Young Adult was directed by Jason Reitman (Juno).

I liked north country because it was gritty and real and it made you think about things that may be happening where you work at. Plus she was a really great actress in it.
