Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas Special DVD

I received the Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas Special DVD for review on my dad blog. This is the same title I’m giving away (winner announcement tomorrow). The new Ice Age movie from Twentieth Century Fox is short (only 27 minutes long). It’s more of a special feature than an actual movie. Bottom line: I thought the animated feature was humorous, but my kids thought it was hilarious. The G-rated Ice Age: A Mammoth Christmas is available now on DVD and Blu-ray combo pack (Blu-ray, DVD and digital copy with extra features).

As you can tell from the title, the latest Ice Age DVD is about the Ice Age characters in a Christmas setting. Apparently, Santa Claus and Christmas existed even during the ice age. In the story, Sid accidentally destroys Manny’s heirloom christmas rock and ends up on Santa’s naughty list. He doesn’t want to be on the naughty list, so Sid heads to the North Pole. And because he’s Sid, he and his friends make a mess of things.

Naturally, Scrat is in the DVD and is still chasing an acorn. Will he ever learn? Other characters include Manny, Diego, Ellie, Peaches, Crash, Eddie, Santa Claus, Prancer, and elves, except the elves are really mini-sloths (it’s the ice age after all).

In addition to the short movie, the Ice Age DVD includes a sneak peak of the upcoming Ice Age: Continental Drift movie, which will open in theaters on July 13, 2012. The DVD also includes a music video of the Mini-Sloth Choir singing Swingin’ Jingle Bells.

The Ice Age special features the voices of Ray Romano (Manny), John Leguizamo(Sid), Denis Leary (Diego), Queen Latifah (Ellie), Seann William Scott (Crash),
Josh Peck (Eddie), Ciara Bravo (Peaches), T.J. Miller (Prancer), Judah Friedlander (Santa Clause), Billy Gardell (Santa), and Chris Wedge (Scrat).
