The B. toys team sent several toys to my toddler to play with. If you have not heard of B. toys before, it’s probably because they are a new toy company (launched last spring). They offer toys for children ages 6 months to 10 years. Prices range from $12 to $25. However, because of the holiday season, the prices on some items are higher than normal (anyone study the law of supply and demand in college?). If you have seen their toys before, you know they look and feel a little different than other toys. For instance, their toys are all eco-friendly. The packages are recycled and/or recyclable. Some toys come in reusable bags made from recycled PP plastic, and others come in boxes that reverse to become gift wrap. Anyhow, if you’re looking for a toy for a little one, consider B. toys. Their toys are available at retailers like Target and Amazon.
B. Whacky Ball
This really is a whacky toy. Your little one places the balls in the holes at the top and then whacks them with a squeaky hammer. A tray catches the balls when they reach the bottom. Of all the B. toys, the Whacky Ball is our toddler’s favorite toy — he loves whacking the ball with the hammer. The toy is intended for kids one to three years old. A little warning: our toddler also whacked his sister with the hammer. Dads and moms should keep the other kids away when their toddler is whacking things with the hammer. The toy sells for about $15.
B. Wheeee-mote Control Radio-Controlled Car
This toy is our one-year old son’s second favorite B. toy. The toy includes a remote, which is easy to use because it has only one button. The car beeps, spins, and lights up (looks pretty cool in a dark room at night). The Wheeee-mote is packaged in a box that wraps itself. All you have to do is flip the reversible jacket and the package converts into a nice looking gift box. No need for wrapping paper. Nice! The toy is currently selling for about $35. It is intended for kids one to four years old, but my five-year old daughter and seven-year old son likes the B. Wheeee-mote car too.
B. Meowsic Keyboard
This is a fun musical toy. I think all kids love musical toys and B. Meowsic is no exception. Kids will have fun creating musical masterpieces with this toy keyboard. It features twenty songs, seven witty kitty songs, five instruments and five rhythm sounds, and a retractable sing-along microphone. And parents will like this feature: a volume control. I hate musical toys that don’t have a volume control (they tend to be very, very loud). The toy sells for about $23 and is intended for kids age two to six (my son isn’t two yet and he loves it).
B. Okideoke Toy Microphone
This is another musical toy our toddler likes. It can play eight pre-recorded tunes or you can record your own tune. The microphone amplifies your kid’s voice (a little bit), but our son can already
scream sing really loud without the mic. Like the Meowsic toy mentioned previously, the Okideoke toy features a volume control. The control isn’t obvious so your kiddo probably won’t be able to change the volume unless you show him how (I don’t intend to because I’m not insane). This toy also features a box that converts into a gift box. The toy sells for about $27 currently and is intended for children eighteen months to five years old.
