My favorite product is a quilted topper with a waterproof liner. It protects the mattress without having to use a plastic sheet. Very handy when little ones are in bed with you.

We have treated over twenty flats and house now who have had mattress protectors installed against bedbugs. We are finding that if you have a serious infestation the mattress offers no protection. The headboard, under the carpet, around peeling wallpaper, under the bed are all places that bedbugs live.
