State Farm and Major League Baseball Giveaway

State Farm Insurance and Major League Baseball - Go To Bat Contest on MLB.comTwo announcements today on my dad blog — both related to State Farm Insurance (Facebook | Twitter) and Major League Baseball (MLB). First, I want to let you know I’m giving away a $100 Sports Authority gift card on my dad blog (thank you State Farm and MLB). Second, you can win a 3-day/2-night trip to the 2010 World Series (including air fare and hotel). Not only can you win a trip for two, you can also help out a charity of your choice. I don’t know which teams will be in the World Series this year, but I know it won’t be the Seattle Mariners (Portland is too tiny to have a MLB team — we can’t even afford sunshine for more than two months out of the year).

Go To Bat Contest on MLB.com
State Farm has teamed up with Major League Baseball to give dads and moms a chance to attend the 2010 World Series. In the contest, dads and moms will also go to bat for their favorite charity. To win, play the online Home Run Derby game and select a charity you would like to go to bat for. Once a week, for ten weeks, State Farm will select a winner and their charity. The winner’s charity will receive a donation ($100 for every home run hit that week in MLB) and the winner will receive a trip for two to the 2010 World Series. The World Series trip consists of round-trip coach air transportation for two people, two (2) night standard double-occupancy hotel accommodations, ground transportation to/from the airport/hotel/games, and two (2) tickets for Games 3 and 4 of the 2010 MLB World Series championship. The deadline to enter is September 26, 2010.

  1. I have a unique point of view for this giveaway. My son was a catcher for the NY Mets in their minor league system for almost 3 years, so my fave team is the Mets.

  2. My favorite team is the Atlanta Braves. I’ve only been to their park twice, and became a fan when my sons started watching baseball when we lived near Birmingham, AL. My youngest son has had the chance to visit the park as a journalist, and interviewed Bobby Cox, Chipper Jones and Dale Murphy among others. Quite a thrill for him!

  3. My family and I love the Yankee’s!
This is such a wonderful prize.
Thanks so much for offering this giveaway.

  5. My dad loves the new york yankee’s and he just joined a softball league and this giftcard would come in handy.

  6. Click on the Facebook like button below and then write about your favorite baseball team on my Facebook fan page Rajee Pandi

  7. This season, my home team’s play seems to be negatively affected by off-the-field turmoil, so I’ve been following the Chicago Cubs instead. I think that, after a century, no matter which team is your favorite, it is past due to see the Cubs play in and win the World Series

  8. My favorite team is the Angels (what ever city they’ve put in their name this year…)! They did so awesome last year (except for the final bit – darn it all)!

  10. Both my husband and I lived in Chicago before we met in the South, and we’re both Chicago Cubs fans! I secretly like the White Sox a little as well, though (shh)!

  11. My favorite team is the Baltimore orioles, but it is kind of embarrassing to admit that this year. Actually they’ve been bad for about 20 years now.

  12. The St. Louis Cardinals. Aren’t they everyone’s favorite team? We may have good years and bad years, but Cardinal fans love them consistently.

  13. Our favorite MLB Team is the New York Yankees.
    Go Yankees !

Thank you so much for the giveaway.

  14. I read Mike Royko’s column for years, and developed a great fondness for the Chicago cubs.

    Thanks for a wonderful giveaway!

  15. Well, they say you’re supposed to root root root for the home team, so that would be the Detroit Tigers. I turn them on sometimes on a lazy Saturday afternoon, but my hubby is the real baseball fan in the house. Thanks for the giveaway, I’ve bookmarked the State Farm contest too!

  17. Favorite team The Dodgers—I grew up in So Cal—I live in Portland now–but haven’t yet made it to a Mariners game.

  18. Because they are consistently and historically at or near the top of everyone’s list of teams to beat, my favorite is the New York Yankees.

  19. I still love the Mariners even if they aren’t earning their keep much the last set of games I’ve watched. Home team pride springs eternal :)

  20. I like the Cardinals because of Albert Pujols, Royals because we have their AAA team in Omaha, and the Cubs because of tradition.

  21. My favorite team has to be my hometown Pittsburgh Pirates – though they’re a pale imitation of the team they were when they had Barry Bonds, Bobby Bonilla, and other stars, I’m still loyal to the Bucs. thanks!

  22. Well I live in Seattle so our hometown boys are the Mariners but it is hard to get to excited for them. As I am sure you know. So I would have to say go Red Sox.
