I Need a Vacation – Hotels.com Giveaway

I need a vacation. I really do — especially after another eventful evening with Little Disney. Over the weekend, he ate something that caused a horrific rash to quickly spread all over his tiny body. Then he vomited all over Mommy Forever and became non-responsive. His eyes glazed over and then his eyes became droopy. As some of my readers know, Little Disney has a lot of health problems — two of which are food allergies and prone to seizures. So for the second time in eight months, we had to call 911 and had him whisked away in an ambulance to the ER. Luckily, Little Disney didn’t go into seizure this time and he was released from the hospital after about four hours. Now, he’s back to his normal cute self. But mom and dad are still stressed out. We need a vacation to recover.

  1. I hope Little Disney is getting better after that frightful episode. I would’ve been scared witless!

Blessings to your family, Daddy Forever. Special hugs to the baby!

  2. The Renaissance is my favorite hotel so far. Usually we stay in Holiday Inn Express though, and they have always been good too.

  3. I will add to the list Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove on St. Thomas Island. Thanks so much for hosting this giveaway.

  4. Disney hotels are super cool and I stayed at a Marriott in San Francisco which had a great location and wonderful staff. In fact all the Marriotts I’ve ever stayed in have been great!

  5. Last year, we stayed at the Dream Hotel in New York City and I loved it. Thanks so much.

  6. I love, love, love the Hotel Nelligan in Montreal. (I could use a vacation but it really sounds like you need one more!)

  7. Favorite? We only book cheap places . . . I’d love for Ventana Inn And Spa in Big Sur, CA to be our favorite though.

  8. My favorite hotel was the Round Hill Hotel in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The property was beautiful and all of the staff were so friendly and accommodating.

  9. I like the W hotel chain, but I also like the Marriot courtyard in New Orleans, close to everything but far enough away the noise so you can relax

  10. My favorite hotel so far has been the Boardwalk at Disney. I loved the view from the room we had there and the proximity to Epcot.

  11. I haven’t had to opportunity to stay in many hotels but I did stay at the Kingsmill resort in Williamsburg Va and it was very very nice!

  12. My favorite hotel is the Holiday Inn Grand Island. It is very cool to have the Niagra River running all around you.

  13. The Polynesian Resort is our favorite hotel anywhere. It’s even better than the Hilton Hawaiian Village. We just love the atmosphere, and the convenience of transportation. It doesn’t hurt that the monorail runs right through the hotel. Watching Wishes from the beach is the highlight of every trip.

  14. My favorite hotel by far is the Cabanas Maria del Mar. Mostly because it’s located on the most beautiful little Island, Isla de Mujeres, just a short & inexpensive ferry ride away from Cancun. We’ve stayed there twice now, and will return to this affordable and perfectly situated hotel on the beach.

  15. My favorite is the Hotel Lucia in Portland, Oregon. Funnily enough, it’s the place where Al Gore supposedly accosted that woman…

  16. We really enjoyed the Excalibur in Vegas when we took the kids 2 years ago. Great pool, good spa, fun entertainment. It was great!
    bebemiqui82(at)yahoo(dot)com

  17. I love The Flamingo in Las Vegas. It’s got a great location and I love the whole Bugsy history of it (even though its not actually the same buildinh)

  18. I once stayed a night at the Flatotel in New York City really close to Rockfeller Plaza. It was really cool! I had seen the hotel on TV and it was less than half a mile from NBC Studios, Radio City Music Hall and a lot of other sites in the area! So cool!

  19. My favorite hotel is Vdara, part the new City Center in Las Vegas. It is luxurious, relaxing, and doesn’t have a casino, so you don’t have to hear the sound of slot machines all day long!

  20. My husband & I take an anniversary trip each year to the Riverwalk in San Antonio. We love staying at the Hilton located right on the Riverwalk.

  21. The W Hotel in West Hollywood, California was absolutely amazing. My room, which was a basic room, was so plush, so huge, and so beautiful I thought I was in Heaven! And the have Bliss spa bath products that you can keep. AMAZING!

  22. I wrote my favorite vacation story on your Facebook page on Thursday July 15th at 8:20am EST. My FB name is Tricia Gatte Andrews and I am a fan of your page!

  23. For family trips we love the Hyatt Hill Country Resort. Super fun for the kids….pool, lazy river tube float, games, face-painting, pony rides, s’mores, campfire songs just to name a few.

  24. The Peabody hotel in Memphis!!!!!!! I have always dreamed of staying there. It’s a big deal where I come from!

  25. My favorite hotel so far is Il Chiostro del Carmine in Siena, Italy! BEST breakfast. BEST pastries. Fantastic service. Beautiful rooms at a rather affordable price (when traveling with a group). Very pleasant experience!

  26. My favorite hotel is the Portola Hotel & Spa at Monterey California. The rooms, accomodations and service are great and of course the rooms facing Monterey bay have a beautiful view. The hotel has a spa/salon that offers a ton relaxing treatments from facials, body treatments, massages and etc. From the Portola Hotel, you can walk to many of Monterey’s world-famous attractions, like Del Monte Beach, historic Fisherman’s Wharf, the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row. The Portola Hotel has a place to eat called Jacks Restaurant and Lounge if you want to hang out at the hotel and eat. However, the food and dinning around this entire area is incredible and I cannot even begin to tell you about all the wonderful places that I’ve found to eat here including a place called Bubba Gump Shrimp company where the food was fantastic and the atmosphere so fun. The shopping in this area is incredible and in fact the Portola Hotels has some shops located around the lobby. There are many art stores and specialty shops. The Portolla hotel has a swimming pool, jacuzzi and wi-fi and cable which are all things that I can’t live without when I go on a trip or vacation. You can hang out on the beach or you can drive to Carmel where there is more beaches, Restaurants and shopping. My husband and I have stayed at this hotel many times and keep coming back because we have never been dissapointed when staying there and have always had a great time.

  27. Sorry to hear about your little one, Little Disney, being sick! Just found your blog-I like it!

My fave hotel is Springhill Suites by Marriott!! I love the indoor pool/jacuzzi and the exercise room! I always have had a great experience to stay there!

I’d love to win this to have a night away for my birthday(tomorrow lol)!

Thanks for the chance to win!

  28. I don’t necessarily have a favorite hotel. When I’m looking to book a hotel for an location I’ve never visited before I usually go by star rating and review. I find that the Hilton is always a safe bet

  29. My husband is a full time student and with 2 kids we cant afford to stay in a hotel or even go on a vacation. It would be nice to get a babysitter and the 2 of us go on a mini vacation in a neighboring city. Last time my family came to visit was just a couple of weeks ago and they stayed at the Country Inn and Suites. This hotel seemed very nice and the staff was awesome!!!

  30. My fav hotel… hmm not sure that I have one but I do like Hamptons because they aren’t expensive and they feed you!
    Thanks

  31. I haven’t stayed in my hotels yet in my life, but I like it to be cheap and simple. Comfort Inn is one of my favorites.

  32. I don’t really have a favorite hotel but we like the Executive Suites hotel chain. It is very kid friendly and they have lots of free food..it seems like snacks are always being served. There rooms and pool..etc are always very clean.

  33. I was recently fortunate enough to stay at the Shutters On The Beach in Santa Monica and its easily the nicest place I’ve ever stayed. Good thing I wasn’t footing the bill :)

  34. My favorite hotel in Monterey, CA is the Beach Resort (Best Western). IT’s not fancy, but it’s right on the beach and it’s very down to earth and family friendly. If we lived closer we’d bring our dog, because it’s pet friendly too!!

  35. My favorite hotel is the Pod in NYC. It’s ridiculously cheap (under a 100 a night), yet very modern and chic. Why so cheap? Because the rooms are the size of a shoebox….kind of like the modern Tokyo hotels. I like small rooms anyway, and when you are in New York you tend to just sleep there really and maybe an hour of winding down…I recommend it highly for those on a budget…

  36. We have several hotels that we like, not one particular favorite, but, if it’s a trip to Walt Disney World, we enjoyed our stays at the Beach Club, the Yacht Club and the Grand Floridian Hotels

  37. I haven’t stayed at a lot of hotels. The last place went was the Hilton on Marco Island, Florida. It was very nice.

  38. Our favorite hotel is the Keauhou Beach Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii. It’s location is excellent. The lounge juts out over the water so you can see the fishes swimming all around and the sea turtles basking on the rocks. The rates are reasonable for a decent hotel!!!

  39. The Hampton Inn Resort in Daytona Beach Shores gets my vote for favorite hotel. It’s not a 5-star luxory hotel – and I’ve stayed at many places that were more cosmetically appealing to the eye – but the ammenities and customer service at this location bring out value above and beyond many other hotels with higher ratings and much higher prices!

  40. I recently stayed at the Embassy Suites in downtown Portland, OR and loved it! It was perfect for our family.

  41. My favorite hotel is the Sandpearl resort in Clearwater, FL. It’s beautiful and the staff is so friendly and accommodating!

  42. My favorite hotel is the Contemporary in Disney World. I honeymooned there and years later took our son who was simply amazed by the monorail going through it.

  43. What an awesome giveaway. My favorite hotel chain is Holiday Inn. I love that they are always Hospitable. Thanks for the giveaway!

  44. I love a Ritz Carlton and a Westin but rarely can afford it…we usually stay at a Hampton which are very nice.

  45. while I use Days Inn and Comfort Inn budget hotels while in the US, I really enjoyed my stay at Casa Rustica in Antigua Guatemala last month. Great value, and centrally located in the downtown area.

  46. We don’t get out much, but we did take a vacation last spring break and we stayed at the Omni at Championsgate in Orlando and it was absolutely fabulous.

  47. I used to be a Hilton employee, so I love Hilton hotels! I’ve stayed at a few Hiltons and Embassy Suites (they have great breakfast!)

  48. Can’t say I have a favorite as we have not been able to vacation much. The last one we stayed in was Hilton Garden Inn I think. It was nice and we had gotten a great deal on it.

  49. Hiltons are my favorite. I especially liked the one at the Austin TX airport.

    luckycat1818(at)yahoo(dot)com

  50. My favorite hotel is a locally owned one name Garden Palace hotel….we stay once a year in a jacuzzi suite and have dinner at their resturant

  51. Comfort Inn Suites is my favorite they have the best beds and the most amazing showers.

  52. i love staying in New Orleans and last Dec we stayed at the Marriott courtyard on St Charles, it was great since we could load up on the free breakfast buffet and the staff was so friendly. The doorman was always ready with directions
    singermagic1(at)yahoo(dot)com

  53. I love staying in New Orleans, last Dec we stayed at the Marriott courtyard on St Charles, it was great since we could load up on the free breakfast buffet and the staff was so friendly. The doorman was always ready with directions and the cable car ran right out side the front door
    singermagic1(at)yahoo(dot)com

  54. Mine is Hotel Monaco in SLC. It has a hip decor, free wine for 2 hours each night, and allows pets- even rents out goldfish if you have not a pet of your own.

  55. I’d have to say my favorite hotel would be W Hotels, especially the W New Orleans – they’re so modern, stylish, and luxurious (yet fairly affordable) that it feels like a real escape every time we stay there. Thanks!

  56. I’ve traveled many places, and my favorite hotel is right in my old hometown. I absolutely love the Heathman in downtown Portland, Oregon. The service is amazing, food is exquisite, and the rooms are so comfortable!

    Thanks for a great giveaway,
    Tanya

  57. We don’t get to go out of town to stay in hotels very often, but a few years ago I stayed at The Renaissance in Hollywood, Ca and that hotel was very nice!

  58. Hampton Inn. I didn’t stay there, I just was there at my mom’s room and I remember the beautiful fluffy comfy bed. I had to meet her there for my sister’s funeral :( I’ve never had a real vacation!

  59. My sis likes Hampton Inn, but I’ve never stayed there. The only major hotel chain I have used in the past is the Marriott and that was because the Lupus Foundation of America, Inc., conferences were there and having founded a state chapter of the L.F.A., Inc., I flew several times to the East Coast, Chicago and Dallas. After coping with raising three kids by myself and dealing with lupus and other rare medical disorders, I REALLY need a vacation.

  60. The most interesting place I’ve stayed is Fort Ross Lodge in California – very funky and our own personal view of the ocean. Memorable.

  61. Well we’re somewhat cash strapped so we usually stay in Country Inn & Suites (free breakfast, free evening snacks, etc), but it would be great to stay somewhere nice! Thanks.

  62. My fave hotel would have to be The Mirage in Las Vegas, I hope that counts even tho it’s so amazing it’s still a hotel!
