With seven kids, Hannah Keeley is an expert on creating an extraordinary day with mom that’s memorable and personalized without costing a fortune. The ideas are prefect for frugal dads. Read on to see Hannah Keeley’s helpful Mother’s Day ideas and about the $25 American Express gift card giveaway sponsored by Libby (Twitter | Facebook).

Libby's Get Back to the Table

Mother’s Day Ideas

Make dinner for mom
This Mother’s Day, dads can make mom a home-cooked meal for a change. If you’re looking for a dinner recipe, check out Libby’s 10/10 Recipes. They have several recipes that only take 10 minutes to make and cost less than ten dollars. The Teriyaki Stir-Fry Bowl, Kicked-up Mac and Cheese, Taco Salad, and Hamburger Stroganoff look yummy.

Make a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift
Home-made presents always stand out. That’s why dads and kids should be creative and make mom a personalized gift for Mother’s Day. If your mom loves to run, then make her a special water bottle with photos of the kids. If mom loves to read, then create bookmarks with special pictures of her favorite genres.

Spend time as a family
Mom is always planning ways to spend time as a family, so take charge of the activities this Mother’s Day. Read the local newspapers and blogs for activities in your area. Or be creative and have the kids put on a play about the reasons why they love mom.

Pamper mom with an at-home spa day
Reserve the tub for mom and place aromatherapy candles around the bathroom. Draw mom a bubble bath, put on her favorite tunes, and place a basket on the sink with natural products to pamper her with.

Give mom a handmade coupon book
Dads and kids can make mom a coupon book good for chores around the house (such as wash the dishes, empty the dishwasher, fold the laundry, and take out the trash).

Create a scrapbook for mom
Surprise mom by making a scrapbook filled with photos of the kids, birthday’s, anniversaries, family vacations, and events meaningful to mom.
