Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes Giveaway

Did you know February is National Potato Lovers’ Month? I didn’t know until the people over at Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes (Facebook :: Twitter) contacted me about their Potato Fest. And to celebrate National Potato Lovers’ Month, I’m giving away six passes on my dad blog for meals at Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes. Three dads and moms will each receive a set of two passes. Each pass is good for one meal at either Souplantation or Sweet Tomatoes.

Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes Potato Fest

During National Potato Lovers’ Month, Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes are offering a variety of potato-inspired menu items as part of their Potato Fest promotion. Featured menu items include Bistro Potato Salad, Roasted Potato Focaccia, Cream of Rosemary Potato Soup, Sweet Potato Corn Chowder Soup, and Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes with Bacon. Souplantation / Sweet Tomatoes is even giving out their Golden Yam Bisque recipe (a customer favorite) in restaurants from February 15-28.

With the exception of french fries and potato chips, the potato has never been one of my favorite things to eat. But I have been eating baked potatoes almost daily as part of my low sodium/high potassium diet to lower my blood pressure. Potatoes are high in potassium (620 mg in a medium size potato) and low in calories (110), fat (0), cholesterol (0), and sodium (0). The plan seems to be working. This dad’s blood pressure went from a high of 158/124 to 119/85 within one month. Gotta love those potatoes.

Souplantation / Sweet Tomatoes Giveaway
Three lucky readers from this dad blog will each receive a set of two meal passes to Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes. To enter, go to Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes and then leave a comment on my dad blog about your favorite menu item. The deadline to enter is February 28th (Pacific time). The winners will be randomly selected. The giveaway is limited to US readers.

Bonus Entries (leave a separate comment for each entry)

  • Leave a comment about your favorite potato-based food item or dish on my Facebook fan page
  • Tweet about this giveaway or your favorite potato-based food item ONCE on Twitter and include @daddyforever and @souplantation in the tweet (include your Twitter URL or username for verification)

[Disclosure: I did not receive any potatoes or compensation for writing this post. No potatoes (other than the one I ate) were harmed during the writing of this post.]
