Thanks to Dockers (I love their khakis), I’m giving away a pair of khakis on my dad blog to five dads (moms can enter too). The Valentine’s Day related giveaway is actually a continuation of the Dockers Men Without Pants Super Bowl commercial (Calling all Men – its time to Wear the Pants). Enter soon because the free pants giveaway will end on noon Tuesday, February 16th (Pacific time).

Dockers Soft Khakis in classic khaki or redValentine’s Day is around the corner and Dockers is searching for proof that men are wearing the pants and that chivalry is not dead. To prove to Dockers that chivalry is not dead, enter the Dockers Free Pants Giveaway by leaving a comment on my dad blog about your act of Valentine’s Day chivalry (ie – box of chocolates, boutique of flowers, surprise weekend getaway, etc). For my lady readers, you can tell me what your guy did for you on Valentine’s Day. Many dads and moms will be busy with the kids on Monday (no school on Presidents Day), so feel free to use an example from a previous Valentine’s Day if you don’t have time to enter next week.

Bonus Entries (leave a separate comment for each entry)

  • Post your chivalry example as a comment and/or pictures on your Facebook page (include your Facebook username for verification) or on my Facebook fan page
  • Tweet your chivalry example ONCE on Twitter and include @daddyforever and #chivalryisnotdead in the tweet (include your Twitter URL or username for verification)

The giveaway is limited to US residents. The deadline to enter is noon Tuesday, February 16th (Pacific time). Five winners will be randomly selected. The five winners will each receive a free pair of Soft Khakis (classic khaki or red).

A couple of years ago, my husband was in school full-time and working two jobs to make ends meet. He would work all night as a campus security guard, then go valet cars for a few hours working for tips. On Valentine’s Day, he woke up sick with a terrible cold but went in to valet. About midmorning, he showed up at my office with flowers. He said, “I valeted until I earned enough to buy flowers for you, gifts for our daughters, and cold medicine for me.”

    That’s my favorite Valentine’s Day!

My husband married me six valentine’s days ago, which was wonderful. Each day he demonstrates chivalry. I think this year, he is going to let me sleep in and take care of our toddler. Thank you!

My wife and I eloped on Valentines Day in 1992, and have been happily married ever since. This Valentine’s Day we’ll be celebrating our 18th anniversary! I filled the living room with 40 of her favorite flowers (tulips) tonight and put a dozen roses on the dining room table in a crimson red vase. Tonight she’s getting her favorite chocolates, and tomorrow a large box of milk-chocolate turtles. She’s always wanted a sewing station, so our five children and I went shopping and bought everything she needs to sew (sewing machine, tutorial DVD, material, etc). They’ll set it up for her while I take her out for a spa treatment and pedicure tomorrow, followed by a movie (The Wolfman), and a nice dinner. When we get home she’ll be in for a nice surprise!

In addition to the traditional flower arrangement, I took care of dressing and feeding the kids while the missus slept in, also fed the dogs and let them out to take care of their business, made her favorite breakfast – served to her in bed – ran her bath water, paid the bills, did the grocery shopping and am currently entertaining the kids/dogs while she relaxes. And the day’s not over yet… :)

My husband woke up early this morning to take me to breakfast at a fancy restaurant (he has to work tonight, and he’s not really a good enough cook for the whole breakfast in bed thing). He opened every door and held my hand across the table the entire time.

Thank you for the giveaway. Unfortunately, I dont have a picture but, I can
share my gifts and day with you.
My husband actually surprised me with my valentines gifts yesterday. He
bought a teddy bear that was holding a heart shaped box. Inside of the box was
heart candies in a red mesh bag. When I lifted the candy up, I found a necklace
inside on the bottom of the box! He recently noticed me admiring necklaces at
    the jewelry counter.
Today, we went to my son baptism and then I took him to lunch at our
favorite mexican rest. his birthday is tomorrow (15th) so we did a few things
for him here and there since Friday, little surprises!
Anyways, my husband also gave me a card telling me how much he still loves
me. Thank you for letting me share my special day.
