President Helps Dads Entertain with Cheese

Anyone entertaining over the holidays? We had some relatives over last year, but we’re not sure about this year yet. Thanks to baby, things are still very hectic around here. And mom and dad are very, very tired. If we do entertain this year, it’ll probably be a last minute thing, which ties in with today’s review — Président Brie. I sampled some this week and like it. It’s creamy and delicious. Just perfect for crackers. In our case, Ritz crackers, which we discover baby also likes. You know, it’s really nice to be able to feed baby without him screaming like he’s being terrorized by vampires, werewolves, and Dakota Fanning.

You know what else is nice? The Président’s web site. It’s full of recipes, tips, and how-to videos. With all the useful information on the Président’s web site, even a geek dad like me can host a small party. As my early readers know, this dad needs help when it comes to preparing food…like the time I made pizza that looked like barf. Yum.

I skimmed the recipes and watched some of the videos. I have not made anything yet, but the recipes seem so easy, a caveman could do it. For me, the hardest part will be getting some of the ingredients listed in the recipes (what in the world is tarragon and where do I find it?). Some of recipes that caught my attention are:

  • Brie and Turkey Croissant
  • Madrigal Baby Swiss and Apple Toast Sandwich
  • Gourmet Spreadable Cheese and Chicken Caesar Salad
  • Goat Cheese Stuffed Tomatoes
  • Mediterranean Pita Crisps with Feta Spreadable
  • Prosciutto Wrapped Brie with Figs
  • Pub Cheese Mini-Frittatas

[Disclosure: I received a holiday entertaining kit from Lactalis Deli. The kit consisted of three Président Brie logs (yummy), recipes, cheese board, a Sharpie pen, and fancy card holders.]

  2. Dakota Fanning…HA! I love how you write! Glad to hear baby Disney likes Ritz. Have you tried Gerber Puffs? Chloe loved those. They kind of melt on the tongue. If he doesn’t like it you and everyone else could eat them ..those and the crunchies are delish :)

    • We’ver tried the puffs. At first, baby threw a fit when we tried to give them to him. But now he tolerates it. Those things are tiny. I think he has to eat a million of them for a single calorie. Just kidding.

      • No joke there…you would have too eat that much. That’s why I like them :) Poor kid, he’s trying to gain weight and here I am setting him up for failure with my puffs suggestion, LOL

  8. Brie is much too rich for me; it gives me an upset stomach. Ugh.

Having said that, the thing that I picked up on is that you found a cracker that Little Disney likes. How great is THAT considering all that you’ve had to endure with him?!

When does this end? It’s probably over, but just in case — I’d love to enter. We are big cheese fans here!
