The garbage hauler gave us a cart for our recyclables. But they won't take fluorescent bulbs, batteries, paint, and plutonium.

I recycle all the time because a truck comes by my house every week. I didn't know about the light bulbs though. I will have take those to Home Depot also.

Always nice to know where you can take stuff. It shouldn't be so hard to do, that's why so much that shouldn't get thrown in general garbage does.

Hugs,
Holly

Hmmm.... Don't supermarkets carry a little box where one could dispose their used batteries? Here we have that in all supermarkets and a recycling centre just minutes of walk from our apartment. Another great thing is that we have a big container to recycle used vegetable oil and motor oil.

It's not consistent here. For instance, they don't have a recycle container at the Home Depot kids workshops. Only a trash can for both plastic and paper.

The city makes it a requirement for the waste hauler to pick up recyclables. They even gave us a big container with wheels for the recyclables.

I know what you mean. For some reason, they won't take nuclear waste.

Gotta love that Home Depot.
I wish it was easier in my town to recycle. The garbage people don't take any recycling whatsoever. We have to take it to the next county over and store it ourselves to make the trip worthwhile.
Have you ever licked a 9 volt battery to see if it's still good? Shocker!
