Goodbye Mom
My mom passed away on Tuesday. She lived a sad life. Her life started on a bad note when she born in China and was not allowed to immigrate to America. A guardian took care of my mother in China while her parents raised her brothers and and sisters in the states. My mom was stranded in China for over 30 years. And for the last ten years of my mom’s life, she struggled with Alzheimer’s and dementia. For the past few years, I don’t think my mother knew who I was or even who she was. She just babbled to imaginary people for hours.
Goodbye mom. I hope your next life is much better than the life you had here on earth. You will be missed.

I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. I know you’ve mentioned that she had a difficult life at the beginning and the end, so I hope she’s happier now wherever she is. So, you were born in China? One of those small boys is you? You and I both benefited from the sacrifices made by our parents, didn’t we?

I was born in Hong Kong. I’m the tall and handsome kid in the photo.
Wow, I can’t imagine having to be left behind in China while my parents and siblings moved to the states. That is heartbreaking. I love the wedding picture. Beautiful.

Oh, Lord have mercy. I am so sorry to hear this. Sorry that her life was sad, and grateful for the courage it takes anyone to say this about his mother – that her life was indeed heartbreaking. Yes, the next life will be better. There is so much suffering in the world. You make it brighter each time you share sweet pics of your children, your beautiful wife.
