I forgot to mention yesterday that I also made changes to the comments area of my blog. I replaced the threaded comments plugin with one that is built into WordPress 2.7. The built-in one has support for gravatars. In case you didn’t know, a gravatar is an avatar image that follows you from blog to blog (sorta of like a stalker) and appears beside your name when you leave a comment on a gravatar enabled site.
You can sign up for a free gravatar at gravatar.com. Just enter your email address (use the same email address as the one you use for commenting), submit some DNA sample, then click on the magical confirmation link in your email inbox. After you enter a password and a display name, you can upload a photo or graphics for your gravatar.
I used my son’s photo (above) for my gravatar. I’ll going to change it once I find a cooler gravatar. What should I be? A Jedi? How about a Vulcan? Or maybe a superhero like the Silver Surfer.
